SOLVED Crybaby gcb 95 no effect sound / bypass works

An audio probe along with a signal generator found the issues quickly. Sometimes it just takes writing the problem out in order to get the proper perspective on the issue. After I originally posted I got reinvigorated to find the problem.

SOLVED Crybaby gcb 95 no effect sound / bypass works

Three pads had been broken! I also swapped out R3 as it was reading 75k and electrosmash BOM says 22k. The trace from the new input had been boinked as well as both of the inductor traces. "Home Dentistry" costs double! :D JJK, I'm just glad I got it!

SOLVED Crybaby gcb 95 no effect sound / bypass works

Hello all! I've successfully done a few of these stinkfoot bypass mods now. This one was working when I sent it off but it sure isn't now. Bypass works fine and the LED lights but zero sound for the effect. I moved the inductor to the top two pads but I had to flip it in order to fit. I'm...

    Capacitor leads vs. resistor leads

I never woulda thought this habit could be borderline controversial. :ROFLMAO: I forget where I picked up the habit, probably Psionic, Brad or some other kudo retentive tech. I definitely don't see it as "wholesome". Holistic perhaps. Just an ounce of prevention tbh as well as a way to...

    Capacitor leads vs. resistor leads

Always. After I test but before I install. It doesn't always make a difference but it does enough to make me want to keep doing it. It also stopped the random hard to solder components from happening to me.

I always clean leads with ISO and a kimwipe before installing.

    Nobelium

I really looked forward to this build. Tubes, transformer in a pedal?...yes please! As soon as I saw the BOM had links and in stock I jumped. I've only played it a little bit but it's warm goodness. First real step will be setting the DI outpost. Super fun build!

    Cataclysm Delay Issue

I had to troubleshoot my cataclysm. It was my own fault for not taking the board out of the box before drilling some holes bigger and chips got mixed into the board. Building and using this audio probe was the only way I was able to solve. I would look at a short happening on the board...

How do you typically Clean flux from PCB

I like to chip off the larger bits of flux GENTLY with a flat head screwdriver. Then hit with kimwipes and IPA. Then the final brush down.
