I don't disagree that supplying the missing schematics for circuits that are chronically problematic is a good idea, though... it might even be positively beneficial. Low Tide and Acrobat, for example.

What about the aion Elysium/Ibanez em-5 echo machine? I don't know about delay times and not really modulated, but it is a 3-knob delay that sounds great Otherwise, moonn dromtydning! Just kidding, it's not 125b, it's complicated, and skews to ambient/experimental. But it is super fun

Since the switch is symmetrically arranged, I would imagine that there should be a something on the pin neighboring the one with the X. I would bet it's the one with the X. That is perhaps your issue. I think you could also check for continuity with the switch pins and the banks of resistors...

Yes, I face the flat side of the ldr to the side of the LED where the light is produced. I think you could sub a vactrol, but you'd have to respect the ldr and led specs.
