I like the Mofeta. Just keep the master up and nudge up the Normal and Brite knobs to taste. Takes being goosed with an overdrive nicely. It is a fairly scooped preamp though so it might not be good in every context, but it definitely can do more than just doom.

Dimed knobs make me happy

I highly suggest socketing the Titania Transistors and rolling through whichever transistors you go with to find a good sounding combination. Specifically the interaction of the pedal and volume knob helped me to pick a set with a wide range of available sounds. Good luck!

Out of hundreds of ICs I've purchased from Tayda I think I've only had one batch of bad chips and they noticed it before I did. It could be luck of the draw and you got one bad one. Either way it's something to try since some chips can be noisier than others.

Are the transistors firmly seated? The sockets are handy but sometimes I find that the outer legs don't seem to lock in. I would attempt flipping the charge pump to see if it has any effect. Also this isn't touching on your stomp writing is it?

In the case of a doubler isn't that true stereo? I understand that it is somewhat slicing hairs... Unless true stereo would be two dry signals and two wet signals... Which sounds fun too

I would maybe use a preamp as the gain stage personally. Off the top of my head I would pick between a Mofeta, Figment, or maybe a FreakZEQ. For the spacey noise portion of the circuit... Not sure. I know the circuit is polarizing and big but I would be tempted to try something more like the...

I love my magnetron. I know people are all about the Deep Blue/Seabed delay so I have one in the queue but I would be surprised if it could kick the magnetron off the board. If you set the modulation up and the repeats to one/low and time really low you can have a cool almost rotary effect.

That's a great idea to mark the off position for the knob indicator. Does the circuit have a minimum pull down resistor? I'd be tempted to build a fuzz that didn't and mark both the volume and gain knob that way. This looks really cool leaning into that retro vibe.

Good shout out. Hadn't seen that offering yet. I've wanted to try out that circuit for a while even though I know it will probably be too much gain for my taste.
