Thanks for the reply here! I ended up not needing this device so I haven't thought about it since these original posts. I am going to have to familiarize myself with what is going on here! Maybe I'll build it and figure out use for it but also, I think this info is good for anyone else looking...

Yeah the tone on mine doesn't do much, not in the usual tone knob sense. Full CCW takes off the highest frequencies from full CW, but it is not a drastic sound difference.

Question for Lab Rat builders. I used the OP07 and it works great! I can’t imagine it sounding better but what about this? https://www.amplifiedparts.com/products/op-amp-as301ah-alfa-single-to5-8-case What would I notice if I tried that?

Ah right. That's another thing for the OP that other threads here have pointed out, that unlike pedals, building your own amp won't be saving any money. Also, when I started looking into this I compared the cost of a kit to sourcing everything by myself. The price was similar.

Oh wow, I had been looking at Ceriatone also, but i never made it to shipping. There is a thread on this forum about getting advice on amp building and in it Ceriatone is highly praised for quality and customer service.

Sounds good! I am pretty sure I am going to build my first amp this fall/winter. At first I was going to do the tweed Deluxe because it seems more useful to me than a tweed Champ or Princeton, and although more complicated, not crazy more. But now I am looking into a Brown Deluxe. I don’t know...
