Ugh. I hope the delay isn’t too long for you. Today I had to fill out a form giving more details as to what the product is and its intended use before it could be released for shipment from the clearing agency. Did you have to do anything like that? I didn’t quite know what to add. The invoice...

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

I received an email from UPS and was able to log in and provide more details and explain the intended use via their online form. Upon submitting the info the warning went away on the UPS tracking page. Hopefully that means it is on its way again and won’t get stuck.

Do you anticipate continuing to order from outside the US or look for alternatives?

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

The status of my Tayda order as per UPS says: “The package is at the clearing agency awaiting final release.” Does this mean it is getting analyzed for a tariff? …or is that just a normal part of shipment tracking that I haven’t noticed before? Edit… It shows “On the way” now but is still...

Is it possible that they would tax some packages and not others just so there is not a bottleneck of unpaid packages on hold? Seems taxing each and every one would cause delays and not be good for these shipping service companies.

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

Well, I appreciate the replies. I find this confusing and it is hard to know what to expect. I’m gearing up to start a little home-based pedal business that I can use as a side gig. (Still a ways off, but in a year or two.) Apparently my timing is horrible as I’m in a season of gathering...

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

So, how does this new tariff work? It seems like packages will move along because they wouldn’t have time to check each one, but random packages would be selected, opened and evaluated, and if the goods are less than $800, we have to pay 10% and if it is valued higher we have to pay 34%. Is that...

When a notice of payment due happens, what is the delay like? Is it like you pay the tariff with PayPal and the package starts moving again the next day or is it days or weeks to clear, etc? I’m hoping mine will get passed through ok. I placed an order for $500+ with Tayda two weeks ago and it...

I got my first circuit in the mail today. We’ll see if it works tonight.

    Radium Springs Demo

I just finished building a Radium Springs. I noticed there’s not a lot of demos out there for it so I added one. I really enjoyed building it and to me the pedal sounds great! Perfect for what I needed. I had some big ambient reverbs already but wanted something more subtle and ampy for faster...

    DipTrace Grounding Question

It took me a minute, but finally found it. Net 2 was ground in my case.

    DipTrace Grounding Question

I have a question about DipTrace. I’m very new to this. How do I ensure nodes intended for grounding get connected to the poured copper ground plane. See video explanation.

Do you prefer lead or lead-free solder?

For the PCB boards, I used to buy the little tubes of solder at Home Depot but decided to save money and switch to this stuff from Amazon...

    KiCAD or Eagle?

I downloaded DipTrace today and started messing with it. I don’t know if I’ve done this right, but here is my first schematic. A couple questions… 1. When I go to setup the layout for the PCB design, do I need to wire all the ground points together or does the software assume that for me and...

    Noisy Power Supply Question

This seems to have solved my issue. The result was the same with or without the parallel 100nF cap so I omitted that part of it. Here is a video of the result. Thanks.

    Noisy Power Supply Question

Do you happen to know of a way to test how much current a pedal needs? I have a nice multimeter, but not sure if it can test that. (I think the Electra circuit requires very little but I don’t know.)
