I think those are basing the transistors and lower values typically increase the gain. If you don't have the exact value you can put a couple of resistors in series (they add together so 2 220r would equal 440r,) or parallel which is a little more complicated math wise, but two of the same value...

It looks like an elextro but is actually an optocoupler which is basically an enclosed led and ldr. Vsctrols are a more common version of this in diy pedals. I used it cause I had them leftover from something else and had read a report that said they work. Questions are good!

I don't think the fv is that far off from the 1n34, so should be just fine. What you might pay more attention to is matching the first pair (their fv) as closely as possible. This will help create a more pronounced octave effect.

I used the largest step bit in the three pack you get from harbor freight and was able to drill the bottom lid thin enough without going through to make the bulb fit. fit. I wet the top of the bulb and carefully put the lid on and was able to mark the spot that way.

The red is red sand texture. Both are sunnyscopa laser waterslide (white not cleear) clearcoated with rustoleum semigloss. Kinkos is the jam. I usually do several pages at a time since they started the $4 minimum service fee. Still totally worth it.
