What I've always liked about Marshall clean is that if you lean in a bit it gets a snotty attitude.

And I think swelchy's points are well taken. There's nothing earth shaking about this little build, but damn sam, this is still interesting territory in a same/same world.

Killer demo and yeah, once you go down the rabbit hole of tube amp distortion vs front end distortion things get too weird. I wish there was a magic answer but where would the pedal industry be then... I'd dropped off the map with my 6505 and Blackstar explorations and using a compressor...

I giggled at the thought of crying over a circuit board. Been there too many times myself :) Great build. Those white circuit boards look very classy but it's also a bit of work to get the yellowed flux off of them. You've done a very nice job of it.

What a great looking amp!

I got a Taylor in that had a funky K&K 3 sensor install that I need to straighten out and it's my first exposure to the system. Pretty cool stuff but zilch for output so I can see the need for a belt pack before things get too noisy. Nice way to not have to carve up a guitar though.

I think on mine I followed the calibration doc to a point where I thought it didn’t really get the spirit of the amp and just dialed it in to a usable setting as a pedal. Does that make sense? If you’re using it as an effect pedal the calibration will be different than if you use it as a preamp.

It's a different way of thinking of compression too. On my original amp you can dime the master and with the compressor full up (full COUNTER clockwise) you can pretty much talk over the output. Back the compressor off a tad though and the amp starts to get seriously loud real quick. It...
