    Duocast questions

You can definitely test it without SW2 connected, just be aware that the 3PDT that switches between high/low gain also selects which level pot is being used. I'd recommend shorting the middle leg of your Level 1 pot to the output if you're going to leave the switch out entirely.

    Duocast questions

According to the schematic SW2 activates the LED for the high gain mode. The other poles for this switch will bring the high gain trimpot into the circuit and determine which level control is active. To jumper you can use an alligator clip or just solder a lead between the pads. I think a SHO...

Magnetron Mods! Havoc Switch & Outer Gain Pot?

Yep, continuity when depressed is what you want! The trimpot looks good too. I'm not familiar with the diode mod, but it's definitely worth socketing to try it out. Let us know how you go!

Magnetron Mods! Havoc Switch & Outer Gain Pot?

I've done this for the Dark Rift delay and it's heaps of fun! For the oscillation footswitch you want an SPST momentary NO. That way pressing the footswitch will short the feedback pot via your tripmot.

    Photon Vibe very small sound

Current draw is easy enough to find out with a DMM. Just hook it up to the pedal's power jack and select the appropriate amperage range on your DMM. It'll be under 1 amp.

    Promethium HM-2 Issue

They're probably ok then. Do you have any spare TL072's you can try? I don't think they're the problem but they're socketed so worth checking. Squeeling sounds more like it could be a bad cap somewhere. Double check all your component values, especially around the volume and gain pots. Do you...

Question about the 125B Drill Template and hole spacing

From my experience, making assumptions when it comes to drilling will only land you with an unusable enclosure. Just because circuits have similar controls and enclosure sizes doesn't mean placement will always be the same. I might just be overly cautious, but I'd recommend drilling an...

    Relay bypass C3 substitute?

Woops! You're totally right, sorry. Alternatively you could do two 10nF in parallel and that would be 20nF

    Relay bypass C3 substitute?

if you wire two 47nF caps in parallel that will give you 23.5nF.

Two Sticks of Derm Attempt #2 - Question Re: Capacitors

Hey Chris, both will work, but MLCC are generally considered to be higher quality and more robust than your standard ceramic disc caps. As long as the value of your C2 cap is 220pF (or there abouts) and is rated to at least 16v, you're ok.

    Any problem with 16V caps?

The function of the charge pump is affected by both the IC and the circuit. For example, MAX1044 is typically used as a voltage doubler, but can also be used as a voltage inverter or divider depending on the circuit. For pedals running on 18v, 35v caps should be ok. 50v caps will also work, but...
