I ordered a DSO154PRO, too, after seeing a shootout of some of these on youtube. Part 1 Part 2 There's apparently two versions, 1M and 18M or something. I think the 18M comes with a better probe (10:1?). Anyway, I'm waiting for it to arrive. Hope I can wrap my head around it once it's here.

Tight Metal is my favorite as well. I built both Aion's and PCB Mania's version of it. I built a lot of other distortions as well, but the TM beats them all in my opinion. I'm currently waiting for the PCB Mania Solid Metal Pro PCB to arrive in my mailbox. I hope to be able to get the side track...

Thanks for the tips regarding Vp and Idss! I finished one of these bad boys yesterday (with stock values) and it's easily one of my favorite distortion pedals. Like Temol I like it more gainy, so 1987 mode it is for me, but the other two sound great as well. And I love how the pedal cleans up...

Personally I like the Pineapple. Because the Pineapple and the Monarch clean up very nicely (on the Pineapple the Boost needs to be off for that, on the Monarch I can't remember right now, I think it might clean up fine with the Boost on). I do like to drive them with a Dragons Breath up front...

Nice looking pedal, very tidy build! I use matte acrylic varnish where the can says "non-yellowing". And so far I have not seen any yellowing, so the can keeps its promise. Maybe look for a different varnish?

I got this pedal built as well. When I turn the Limiter clockwise I can hear a little difference. It kind of limits the volume a bit. I set the Limiter counter clockwise and the boost up so it overdrives the sound a little. When I turn the limiter clockwise the output gradually decreases...

With the Cetus I also get a whine when I go into the Muzzle noise gate. My Cetus has a 7660S charge pump. The Muzzle has a LT1054 charge bump. When I pull the power on the Muzzle (or the Cetus) and keep it in bypass then the whine disappears. I think this is what people call heterodyning...

Not saying you're using it wrong, but for starters in my humble opinion you wouldn't want to ride the Attack knob that high when playing guitar. Maybe start by treating it like a two knob compressor. Put Attack to 0, Release to 4, Thresh to 10. Then just use the Ratio knob to dial it in and set...

On OP's pic the PCB says version 1.1. On your pic it doesn't. I boxed up a 1.1 yesterday and it shreds. Maybe ask PCB Mania for the differences between the versions? Maybe there's an easy way to fix. Or maybe to get a refund at least.
