Did the shipping change for the US? I use to order with option „Europaket“ DDP which was around 3€ for up to BB size pcbs but it was raised to over 5€ for my last small pcbs. So the pcb was 1,85€ and the shipping almost x3…. (VAT excluded)

Which transistors did he check? JFET for example have interchangable drain and source. If you want something really good for transistors get a Peak DCA75. It's expensive but "worth" it. Edit: a nice comparison
