    LDR question

I just built the Chalumeau and everything appears to be working as it should but I after looking at the build docs, I noticed it said to use a 5mm yellow LED. I haven't built a pedal with photo resistors yet so I randomly chose with this 5mm red LED and this LDR. My question is with this LDR...

    Chalumeau (Pheiffer/Fifer)

I added the fuzz on/off switch mod that i found in the Chalumeau Modifications thread. Its a really simple mod and like being able to take the fuzz out of the circuit. So thanks to Jonathan who showed how to do it. The face plate is another paper although it looks a lot better in real life than...

    Sea Horse (The Belafonte)

Mine too! Since the original pedal and the PCB went the aquatic theme, I decided to run with it.

    Abyss - Quite there w/video

Glad you got it working! I'm building the Chalumeau right now and almost made the same mistake. Luckily caught it before soldering though.

    Sea Horse (The Belafonte)

Thanks! I got a few them a little while back from Love My Switches. This is the first build I've used one on where I thought it looked appropriate. https://lovemyswitches.com/anodized-aluminum-nut-for-foot-switches/

    Sea Horse (The Belafonte)

Just finished up the Sea Horse build. Fun pedal with a lot of flexibility. Will probably take a while to dial but its fun to play with. I havent been that happy with how my waterslides have been turning out so, after reading the enclosure decoration thread, I tried my hand at printing a paper...

I really like the look of this and just to clarify, what kind of paper are you using?

    Malificent Mids

That's great! My daughter's did the same thing, with paint pens, on the Arkaim Fuzz I built. Luckily, it turned out to be one of my favorite fuzz pedals because I have no intention of taking that off my board.

    Awesome, thanks!

    Counterweight resistors

On the parts list, R5 is listed as 7K15. Is that accurate or should it be 7K5? This may be an obvious answer, but I haven't used either value in a build yet so I wanted to confirm. Thanks!

    Face plate graphics

How do you dry it once its on the enclosure? I've tried the oven but it seems to crinkle up even if i've gotten it smoothed out completely before putting it in the oven and then inevitably some areas of the graphic wont stick and get peeled off.

That looks great! Is that film-free or regular waterslide paper? And do you drill before or after applying the decal?

    Face plate graphics

I design mine in Illustator, but there are several free programs to use as well. Then I take that file, upload it into the Cricut software and cut it out. For the water slide decals, I design in photoshop and then print on laser film free water slide decal paper.

    Face plate graphics

I’ve seen several people that use the water slide decals that turn out great but I’ve never had much luck with them. I typically use vinyl decals cut out with a Cricut. The 1983 pedal was just the vinyl decal right on top. The cyclone pedal was an attempt at a film free water slide decal. The...

    Stockade [Palisades] Build

That looks awesome! Love the decal and it's given me inspiration to start the Stockade pcb I've had sitting around for a while.

Cool. Thanks for the link! Looking forward to getting this completed and playing around with it.

Which value LDR should be used in this build?

    Chalumeau

Great, thanks! I'm just starting this build and this a mod I definitely want to include.

    Chalumeau

Just to clarify this, is this a SPDT On-On switch? And the middle pin goes to the bent leg 1 and either of the outer pins gets soldered to the corresponding pad on the pcb? Your drawing is pretty clear but just wanted to confirm. Thanks!
