    Question about reading Vero Layouts

Everything you need to know about building Vero is in this tutorial, and in several others on the Tagboardeffects website - https://tagboardeffects.blogspot.com/2012/04/vero-build-guide.html?m=1

Introducing... the PoRSemeat - Overhyped Overdrive

PRS Horsemeat (yes, it’s actually called that)

Introducing... the PoRSemeat - Overhyped Overdrive

Thanks! I use PowerPoint for laying out my pedal graphics. I found an image with that swirly pattern, filled it into a rounded rectangle, and then just used text boxes for the text. Inkjet water slide decal. For my enclosures, I sand the top to expose the bare aluminum - I like the contrast...

    SOLVED Cetus preamp issue (Solved)

Where did you buy your Max1044 charge pumps? I bought a bunch of them on eBay (looked just like yours ) and every one was crap.

Cetus (Kraken) - Maybe the Best PedalPCB High Gain Distortion?

Thanks! I had the G4 for some time. I liked it - definitely very modern-sounding high gain. It sounded terrific in the effects loop, but terrible in front of the amp. I think the Kraken is more versatile, and works great into the front of the amp. I figured if it sounded even half as good as...

Cetus (Kraken) - Maybe the Best PedalPCB High Gain Distortion?

I present to you... The Krakhead - the Kraken V1 high gain preamp pedal. Built it earlier this week, but finally got round to doing the enclosure and wrapping things up today. This is a killer pedal! Such a usable range of gain - from classic metal, to scooped high gain distortion. Great with...

Introducing... the PoRSemeat - Overhyped Overdrive

Ok, so after spending about an hour with this pedal, watching the PRS and other videos, and trying the same settings, I'm really underwhelmed with this pedal. I'm confident that I used the correct values for all components - made sure to measure everything to be as close to specced as possible...

Introducing... the PoRSemeat - Overhyped Overdrive

I've only spent 5-10 minutes with it so far. I'd have to read what PRS say the Voice control does, but in my few minutes of knob twisting, it just seemed like a narrow-band midrange control.

Introducing... the PoRSemeat - Overhyped Overdrive

I just glue it all together... it's Robert, our fearless PCB designer, that should get all the praise! :)

Introducing... the PoRSemeat - Overhyped Overdrive

Finished my Mystery Meat this morning... and it's quite tasty! :) Fired it up last night, and nothing. Really!? After my first PedalPCB build about 3 years ago, I have a 100% success rate with PedalPCB's, so obviously an operator error. Not having the build docs or schematic to reference, I...

Want to add a treble bleed to an SE Hollowbody II guitar

Just looked at the wiring diagram for the Piezo version: I have an HBII SE - it’s a wonderful guitar, and fills a sonic gap between my core McCarty (blues and lower gain classic rock) and my very modern-sounding core Custom 22. The HBII has the SE version of the 58/15 pups, and are a little...

Want to add a treble bleed to an SE Hollowbody II guitar

Yip, 180pF. Use this diagram (ignore the Tone push/pull): https://d159anurvk4929.cloudfront.net/documents/mccarty_2017.pdf

Want to add a treble bleed to an SE Hollowbody II guitar

PRS typically use a cap only on their treble bleeds - I think 180pF, but you can check the wiring diagrams on the PRS site. The easy part is adding the treble bleed. But since you mention you have an HBII, the real challenge is getting the volume pot out to solder the treble bleed. Do your...

Hi, Any chance the Cetus/Kraken BOM is available yet? Placing an order for the Mystery Meat parts, so would love to include these parts as well. Thanks!

    Coppersound component substitution box

I met the Coppersound guys at a guitar show a few weeks ago. They’ve put together some really useful tools/utility boxes for the pedal diy community - had them all on display.

I know nothing about pickups and my PRS stock aint cutting it

That looks like an older Custom 22 (by looking at the pups, the knobs, and the switch tip.) Not unusual to have some corrosion on pickup slugs over time - they contain iron, after all. Especially if you live in a humid area, or have higher acidity sweat.

I know nothing about pickups and my PRS stock aint cutting it

Pickup height - absolutely! Lots of great info online. BTW, I shelled out $$ to replace the stock pickups on a PRS Custom 22, with Seymour Duncans. After a month of playing those, I decided I'd give the stock pickups another chance (like you, I hadn't tweaked them at all). Once I did that...

    No clipping on Kliche Mini

I'd start by cleaning the board. Blow off both the top and bottom with a can of compressed air. Then use a toothbrush and some isopropyl alcohol to clean the solder side. The look for any solder issues, like solder bridges. After that, the detailed troubleshooting can begin. Are these...
