    Twin Face Fuzz - Hiss on the Ge Side

    Hi friends. I decided to re-box a Twin Face (Si-Ge Fuzz Face) build from last year. I rebiased it, and the Si side sounds a lot better than I remember from a year ago. However, there is a noticeable hiss on the Ge side that I can't pinpoint. Anyone have any ideas on which component(s) might...

    What is your favorite Overdrive ?

    Big fan of the Hermida Zendrive-based Mahayana Drive. My favorite OD pedal at the end of my pedal chain. Great on its own, or really great after fuzzes or distortions to give a nice thick creamy boost to the dirt. The way I like to use it is with the Tone pretty low (around 10 o'clock) and...

    Greengage

    Excellent, and welcome to the addiction that is pedal-building! ;) A note (on your note) about unpainted enclosures. I've recently started taking painted/powder-coated enclosures, and sanding the color off the top only - very easy to do with a hand sander and then some fine steel wool. Kind...

    Cataclysm Delay - Some noise when engaged

    I have a very low level hiss/white noise on mine when engaged. Nothing that bothers me, but I can hear it if not playing. My noise gate would normally get rid of it, but since it's better to not put delays before noise gates, it doesn't get the noise gate treatment. I tried a couple of...

    Tayda 3pdt stomp switches

    Let them know - I've found they're quite responsive. If they do have an issue with this batch (I've never had a problem with their switches in the past) I'm sure they'd like to know about it.

    Son of Ben aka Benji

    Very nice and clean. And great use of blue hookup wire - that's where the real mojo is! ;) Never heard of a Cricut - just looked it up and it looks like a great tool for pedal graphics.

    Abyss Vibe

    Hi Fellow Tone Chasers, Been a while since I've posted anything new here. Most of what I've built over the past 6-12 months has been vero-based, other than an occasional PCB. I had originally built the Earthquaker Devices The Depths optical vibe on vero - one of my first builds, and loved it...

    Jfet sockets and Sky Blue Dual gang pot

    Regarding keeping the socketed transistors firmly seated, a little hot glue will also do the trick (with less chance of overheating the transistor, and easily removable if needed.)

    Dirty Sanchez & Bohemian build

    Nice builds! PedalPCB rocks! (in more ways than one :cool:) Just a suggestion... instead of running the wires from the pots "over" the board and then soldering them on the underside (where all the other components are soldered) solder them to the "top" of the board - the PCB is designed for...

    Guardian OD

    I do too, but in my recent case, I mistakenly read a value as 82R instead of 82K from the schematic, so that's what I picked, measured and soldered. So it's definitely possible to use the perfectly wrong component. :LOL:

    Guardian OD

    I know we all focus on bad ICs, solder bridges and other unwanted shorts when troubleshooting, but have you carefully checked the component values you used? Especially the caps, but also every resistor. It's a pain to do once the board is populated, but it's not uncommon for one small...

    Malificent Mids

    A recent build. Hoping to replicate the "mid-boost" curve on my Boss GE-7 pedal, but not quite, as the mid-band selected is a lot narrower than what graphic EQ can do. Using it as a mid-cut, after a distortion pedal, definitely lets you fine tune a "scooped" sound. Good for a boosted lead tone...

    PedalPCB = A+ ... Mammoth = BIG FAIL

    Yes, I can see why that would be frustrating. When I had the issue, I emailed, and when I didn't hear back in a day, I called them and they (I think his name was Matt) was really helpful. The thing is, a lot of these companies are really small outfits, started by guys with a passion for building...

    PedalPCB = A+ ... Mammoth = BIG FAIL

    Mammoth has always done right by me. One time an issue with an enclosure I ordered, and they took care of it right away. OP... instead of dumping all over them on a public forum after one issue, why not just contact Mammoth directly? I'm sure they'll correct whatever needs correcting. We're...
