    Most authentic Boss SD-1?

Looking to twist up an SD-1 clone, but trying to figure out when the PCBs will be back in stock from Buggs. I purchased a couple different transistors (2SC732 and 2SC1815). I got all of the parts in and tested the transistor. I know some folks said the 1815 was a replacement for the 732 I...

    Most authentic Boss SD-1?

Any idea when more Uber Drive (SD-1) boards will be in?? I would like to build over the Christmas holiday as soo many artists over time (Vai, Wylde, etc) used the SD-1, but I never owned/used on and anxious to try it!

Well, I was able to drill out the 3 pot holes and LED. I was able to put the PCB into the holes from the top side, then figure out where the center of the switch was, then mirrored the distance from top and side! This worked! Set the mark and drilled it to 1/4" and everything lined up...

Cephoid CE-2 - Trimmer Tuning Setting

Thanks. Yes, I wasn't thinking of the audience as all I work with for the past 28 years and not mom-and-pop companies, but $40-50B top 10 companies are engineers and management all day and exact answers are demanded and all I was asking for to fill in the blank of +3dbm = x.xxxmV! Very...

Cephoid CE-2 - Trimmer Tuning Setting

is it REALLY that hard just to answer my question, which is correlation between dbm and voltage and if the value and link I provided is correct or not?!??:ROFLMAO:

Cephoid CE-2 - Trimmer Tuning Setting

thanks for your guys' input. Yes, you want to be in the middle clipping equally as show in the service notes (see below). If the input signal is too low, you probably will not get them to clip and if too high, they will be clipping all the time, so can't dicypher and balance out, so amplitude...

Cephoid CE-2 - Trimmer Tuning Setting

Hey guys I figured I'd just post a thread to cover this one topic on tuning the Chorus pedal. Attached are the Service Notes form BOSS for the CE-2 and CE-2B! It shows the potentiometer settings and how to set the signwave. It shows an 200Hz signal on the input, but +3dBm of amplitude?!? I have...

    SOLVED Cepheid Chorus No Chorus…

I LOVE the graphics on this! Great job!! I'm attaching the Service Note in this thread also and how BOSS sets the potentiometer for both the CE-2 and CE-2B. Question - it says input signal should be sinewave, 200Hz and +3dB...what would that equate to in voltages (e.g. - 1.21V, 168mV, etc)?!?

    XC Phase (Phase 90) Issues

This is the unit I picked up for testing components if anyone is interested. https://www.peakelec.co.uk/acatalog/dca75-dca-pro-semiconductor-analyser.html

    XC Phase (Phase 90) Issues

Ok guys, here is the results... The MXR 1974 Phase 90 Reissue has BOTH Vgs (off) and Idss values around 3% (2.88% and 3.37% respectively)! When I tried to test by other means and put in a couple of clones, I was actually at over 10% on one and over 18% on another, soo WAY off and probably why...

    XC Phase (Phase 90) Issues

Ok, found this while searching around. In summary, #1 you want Vgs (off) as #1 prime requisite and Idss as secondary #2, but #1 is biggest thing to match. merlineb - "In general, Vgs(off) takes priority. That's the thing you should match first. The bias trim can be adjusted to suit whatever...

    XC Phase (Phase 90) Issues

Ok, so the DCA75 meter came in today! I tried out 3 2N5952s just to see how it worked. Below are the results of 4. I have a bunch of them and will test all! I want to look specifically for the VGS (0ff) only?...and ones then match the closet together?? What is the maximum difference in...

    XC Phase (Phase 90) Issues

Yep, I see. The original had six UA741CP's in it. The clone has three TL072's...single v. dual Op Amp. I see the Slew Rate for the YA741 is only .5V/us and the TL072 is 20V/us!! I wonder what the difference is in TONE?!??

    XC Phase (Phase 90) Issues

Hey guys, I know it's expensive, but think I'm going to pull the trigger on the Peak DCA75. I think it's really cool and will supplement by 3 other Peak/Atlas units. Second thing thou....WHY does the '74 Phase 90 Reissue (as the vintage ones) have 6 ICs and 5 Transistors, but the Pedal PCB...

    ADHD Wiring

Ok, thanks. I'll wire it up for True Bypass and see how it sounds. OCD pedals have been around for a while. I haven't used one, so anxious to see how it sounds and stack up against other ODs. Usually, your boards only have 4 pads and the IN and OUT come off of the jacks themselves. That's why...

So, I don't have that other daughter board, so I would just use the 4 pads (IN/GND/SW/OUT)?? The v.2 has 7 pads to hook up to the 3DPT. So, you're saying use all 6 pads at the bottom for True Bypass and just ignore the EB?? If so, I'm not sure of the wiring for 6 pads! Can you please...

I have the latest board - ADHD Overdrive Any idea when the build doc will be released or is there a preliminary I can use? Need the drill template and understand how to wire up with the additional pads and others for "EB"?!?? Just waiting this stuff so I can finish up building. Thanks in advance.

    XC Phase (Phase 90) Issues

Ok guys. I finally had the time to delve into this...and I have a solution!! The problem was not the switch...it was not the use of a tube amp...it was what I was thinking and had to do with the True Bypass scheme!! Attached is an illustration I put together. The first one is the normal way...
