Definitely looks like it's not adhering in the spots you mentioned. Why that is, no idea, there are multiple possibilities.

Yes, but only once you've found the proper combination of series and parallel, cap value, and resistor value. And you're stuck with the final values if you just use a cap and resistor. The linked PCB lets you switch between a bunch of cap and resistor values, as well as none, and changing...

Breadboarding, by far. It also helps with reading schematics, since that's all you use. Then you start tweaking parts, seeing common circuit blocks, etc.

Mythos makes one, which I just bought, but I think the community here/Robert could come up with something as good or better. Maybe an SMD version with a pick and place option for somewhere like JLPCB. I really like that I can install one, have a ton of options, and still be able to just turn it...

I built them both with the improved mixer, and I think at least one other person built it without, and same issue, so it seems to me it's not the mixer circuit. What it could be I have no idea, especially since it has been successful built before...

@Bugeyed Earl I tried to build this twice, and ran into exactly this same issue both times, and eventually just gave up.

I feel like I did notice an improvement from the Project Starlight to the Crack. I remember listening to Led Zeppelin, which I've done for probably 2 decades at this point, and hearing all this extra detail. All the little squeaks and coughs and background sounds, plus the actual instruments...

Also I think @vigilante398 had mentioned possibly designing a simple tube headphone amp, I'm not sure if there has been any progress on that.
