are you using a diffused led? for most of my pedals 4k7 with a diffused led is enough. I built the bigger version of that pedal and found the stock values a tad bright but not overwhelming.

I'm building a Fuzzdog Crap-fi delay and thinking of adding a Parasit Studio mod board to wiggle the delays. How do I figure out which ldr/vactrol to use? The delay pot on the Crap-fi is 50KB. Schematics

Try that one. May want to socket it to try different values. On the schematic (down on the bottom) its part of a led noise filter with the 22u cap on the right and probably the 4k7 resister to the right of the cap. If you use too high a value resistor on the 2k2 location you might get some led...
