Free schematic - discrete, articulate high gain distortion!

I've breadboarded their circuits a while back and I was super impressed. They sounded super good!

Daisy seed / Terrarium as an IR loader?

The daisy seed is certainly capable. I'm not sure if you'll find a standalone IR loader, but there are projects that include IR cab sim (eg funbox mars)

    Other* Pedals Everythang

Nice! Do the hgsemi 13700 behave as they should? I want to try them, as they are much cheaper, but I hadn't seen them in use

    Ashly SC-50 clone

I'm mostly curious about the way the VCA is implemented, I might send them a message. Thanks for the heads up

@disssa , that looks amazing. Would you mind sharing the schematics? I've only found dead links

As long as your caps are rated appropriately, it can run on 18v

    All DIY-Boards

I'm excited to build a DIY tuner, but I'll probably have to wait a liitle bit. Right now it goes: - OS based compressor - MuAmp based treble booster - Chuck's Mojito - Phase 45 with extras - Orange inspired preamp - Pt2399 Delay

I NEED a pedal that emulates VHT/Fryette sound. Which PPCB could be?

Have you tried PPCB Valhalla? It's a Diezel VH4.

    Laney Supergroup Style Circuit/PCB Development

On a side note, I remembered EffectsLayouts used to offer a preamp like the one you want. It was called the Super Trouper (you could build it to Supergroup of Model T specs) and you can still find the build docs for it (link here). No idea how it sounded, though. It is not very far from a Model...

    Laney Supergroup Style Circuit/PCB Development

Adding to Temol and Blackboardcult, I have succesfully adapted the post-tonestack section of the EAE Model Fet for 9V single supply and it sounds quite good

Nice posts as always, Chuck! Any suggested parts/hfe values for q4 and q5?

    Caboose Overdrive (J201 BIAS ISSUES)

I can't simulate the circuit right now, but 12k is a little high compared to what we typically see used with j201s. Maybe the original used (borderline) out-of-spec jfets

Temol, do you happen to remember the jfets you used on this one? Would you be willing to share the layout for this one?

Thanks a lot, Chuck! I think I've got it (most of it, anyways)!

Chuck, If the answer to this is short and won't derail this thread, could you tell me why this Idss requirement matters for J201 in muamp circuits, and not for other jfets?

This Week on the Breadboard: Stereo Chorus

Thanks for sharing this one, Chuck! Everytime I've seen people use a transistor connected to the VCO in order to have small resistances work, it's been a BJT. Any particular reason you've gone for a MOSFET?
