Wet / Dry boxing using 2x Signal Buffer / Inverter PCBs

The difference is that in an isolated jack the sleeve is disconnected from the chassis, which is usually grounded, so you can lift the ground easily. Edit: search for “insulated jack” on Tayda.

Wet / Dry boxing using 2x Signal Buffer / Inverter PCBs

I always wonder why people use transformers if a ground lift will do the same job? What are the pros and cons of either solution?

    Cepheus (Cornish CC-1) Troubleshooting

The solder joints on the switch could be hotter and with more solder. Check out some other build reports. The back of the board is pretty covered in flux and it’s hard for me to tell if all the solder joints are good. I would start with a very thorough visual inspection to make sure they are all...

Keep them coming man! I missed seeing your builds and demos! Always great stuff.

    Super Heterodyne Receiver

Thanks! I had 4 different attempts with various tweaks. I should’ve used a cheaper material for testing. Oh well.

    Super Heterodyne Receiver

Welp, almost 4 years later I finally made a faceplate for this.

    Maleficent Mid Build

I built this a couple years ago and I’m pretty sure the switch lets you select a broad or narrow eq shape. It doesn’t quite get into cocked wah territory but the narrow Q is very noticeable with a distortion before it. From JHS:

The switch is a Q control no? Albeit pretty coarse with just two values.

Very nice clean build! No demo? ;)

    Overthinking a simple latching circuit

That said, after further research I ended up ordering some latching push buttons from Tayda. They are not as cool (and probably not as sturdy) as some of the metal momentary push buttons they have but it’ll do for a kids toy.

    Overthinking a simple latching circuit

And btw you can make three latching switches with one single chip which is not bad.

    Overthinking a simple latching circuit

I ended up using a CD4069 and this circuit: https://leap.tardate.com/Electronics101/CD4069/PushButtonLatch/ and it works like a charm.

A new-production BBD, with added features!

So who’s trying one of these out?!? Would they work in existing circuits or do we have to make a new one?

    Overthinking a simple latching circuit

Hey guys, I vaguely remember taking a digital circuit class in college but nothing stuck with me apparently… I promised the kids that I would make them a little box with some pots and switches and LEDs that they can play with (my daughter has been calling it her Time Machine [not sure why my...

Wet / Dry boxing using 2x Signal Buffer / Inverter PCBs

    1) I think that should work, assuming the buffer has a capacitor in the input stage. I would experiment and see. If that does not work, you can put a buffer before the two buffers. That would solve any loading issues but there should be none because those buffers should have a very high input...

    3-way splitter

I started the mixer and when done I will also experiment!

    3-way splitter

The master mix cannot keep everything at unity. Voltages are additive, if 1/3 of the signal goes away we get a 1/3 volume drop, right? What am I missing?

    Even more new Tayda colors!

You can see matte sand texture red in my latest build report: https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/3-way-splitter.27312/

    3-way splitter

Master bypass would work but then I can’t bypass individual effects? I don’t think you can bypass channels easily. You could just ground the input in the splitter as a way to bypass but then you would get a volume drop, unless the effect was set to wet only… or maybe you had something else in mind?

    3-way splitter

One thing that I think is missing here that I didn’t realize at first is the ability to turn the mixer and splitter into an actual looper. To clarify: as you said you can blend multiple effects together with splitter+mixer. Now let’s say one of the effects flips the phase: the splitter has you...
