All right, I figured out how to make it beep by pushing the select button. I didn’t test every pin, but I went to your settings where you said the upper IC should have continuity and all of those had continuity but when I got to the lower, I see there was no continuity between pins 13 and 14 no...

Thanks right now. I’m trying to figure out how to read the meter. My friend who I gave pedals to actually thinks I know what I’m doing.

    Just to make sure I’m doing this right I’m on pin one. Taking the lead from pin one and touching each of the others. These are my readings socket one pin one. 1-2 .1 1-3 6.9 1-4 6.7 1-5 23.8 1-6 25 1-7 25 1-8 25 1-9 25.9 1-10 19.9 1-11 6.7 1-12 21.8 1-13 25 1-14 25

So I will write down my readings because I’m not sure exactly what I’m looking for; from looking on the Internet it looks like when there’s no continuity there will be an OL.

Thanks, I do have a DMM. I check resistors and capacitors. Mostly paint by numbers over here.

These two are from stomp box. Actually swapped out the ones from the picture thinking that they may be an issue and put two different ones that were from stomp, but it had no effect on the pedal. As you know, the most discouraging thing is to work on something for many hours and then. Get...

Thanks for that. Oddly enough one time I built a pedal and accidentally put that type of socket and thinking I had made a mistake. I removed it. In removing it, I rendered the board useless. The more you know the more you know the more you know.

Not sure how to check traces. But can you also tell me what socket I should use? I am rather new at this and put together a few Stewmac pedals which utilized this type of socket.

I double checked. They are 10 K and regarding r17 in r19 look correct as well, man, I wish it was as easy to fix as that maximum overdrive!

    PedalPCB Maximum Drive (Maxon OD-01)

@Robert just swapped out that resistor and this pedal screams. Really a fantastic pedal and I am so glad you were able to identify that problem for me. I hope you’ll have time to look at my troubleshooting thread about my six band equalizer. Sometimes when I am looking at something for so long...

Well, the correct chips arrived from Stompbox, NE5534P. No change, pedal works great just very underpowered. I think I will add a PedalPCB footswitch booster unless anyone sees something In did wrong in the build. @MichaelW had different results as far as power or volume

Here’s a pic of under the potentiometers. I should mention I’m not sure how to test an electrolytic capacitor and there’s only one in the building and it’s a 100 U. When I measure it with my multimeter, it seems to have the similar readings as other ones in my inventory.

So the pedal gets bypass on the auditorium platform but when you engage the switch, you just get a loud pop. Maybe someone can see something I’m missing here I tested every resistor and cap and potentiometer. I’m hoping it’s something simple but right now it gets nothing on the auditorium...

    PedalPCB Chop Shop

I do love tube screamers and it is a great out of the box pedal. Many of these pedals we build are tweaking and improving the original. The TS has had Buttery-smooth-mids for the masses since 1979! Thank you Susumu Tamura,

    Circulator

Nice build! I am going to start mine next week and I am considering the mods suggested. I would love to have that little blinker but I am a paint by numbers builder for the most part. I can add a switch or minor things but I may just do the straightforward build.

DEMO Troglodyte — Self Oscillating Reverb

Great demo of a very cool pedal. Been looking for a reason to use a momentary switch!

Here is what the internet said about chips. After seeing my image above, does it looks suspect?

Edit 2/22/26: After putting this pedal through its paces I see that it is basically a dirt pedal. No transparent OD and you get severe dirt when you toggle north and dirt south. I would call this a distortion pedal with a switch that toggles into fuzz territory, I loved the build. Using ¼ watt...
