The regulator I am using is the one pictured so I’m going with there may be a short. In desperation I have off boarded the regulator on a vero and fed it into the left pad of the regulator and every thing seems to be behaving. It’s what I get for taking a build break.

Thanks for the heads up. The build was banished to the pedal oubliette and to be honest will probably stay there. Not going to spend $$$ (relatively speaking) chasing obsolete chips to find one that gains me no greater functionality than I can get from a basic TR-2.

If nothing else you could maybe look at the schematic of the Tatiana and see how it separates the loop OR figure out how to break the feedback part of the loop to get the functionality you are looking for

Look at the DEFX Tatiana. It has an overall bypass but the loop is activated by a momentary switch so so long as you have the pedal on, but don’t press the momentary, the pedal in the loop remains “in the chain.

Very classy build and love the hammertone. Good job keeping the wiring tidy. VFE boards are challenging for sure, but well worth the tones in the end. VFE knows how to tweak a circuit.
