    Mu-tron power filtering cap

Maybe I will just throw a 100nf 220nf or 1uf there since I have those on hand

    Mu-tron power filtering cap

Ordering parts for a Lumitron and just need a gut check on this rather odd value mlcc (C15 470nf) called for in the power section Is that extra (and seemingly negligible) capacitance really necessary when it is in parallel with the 10uf electro? Does the nature of an mlcc offer some superior...

    Fuzzdog Moo-Tron Help

Def do your value checks, reflow solder joints even if you think they don’t need it, and get some continuity checks on those switches. I know it might not be a popular way of doing things since it requires a rather large washer, but for those alpha 3pdt rotaries I actually drill the hole to...

    Fuzzdog Moo-Tron Help

Had a minute to record an unapologetically shitty demo…..enjoy? Telecaster bridge pup into Epiphone Pathfinder. Moo-tron, then SWAH, then BassBalls, then finally the Slow Gear. You can catch some decay flutter even on the SWAH, again, a compressor in front can mitigate some of that.

    Fuzzdog Moo-Tron Help

I just ran through some settings on my recently completed Moo-tron and I can confirm that there is some decay flutter in mine as well, but I think that is just inherent behavior for some EFs. I know my Procrastinator does this too. Try putting a compressor in front of the moo-tron. I did compare...

    Fuzzdog Moo-Tron Help

Envelope filters can be very setting dependent especially when flipping from an up to down filter. What works in one will get you little in the other. Also, make sure you are setting the sweep knob to ab noon since that affects the response of the vactrols. Other than that, make sure your...

    Mu-Tron to wah Projects?

Good suggestion. The Lumitron/MiniMu/Mootron all use a vactrol of one sort or another, but could def sub in something

    Mu-Tron to wah Projects?

Was approached today by an acquaintance asking if it would be possible to make a Mu-Tron III based pedal that could be switched at will between EF and wah (with the use of an expression pedal). He wants his board real estate and cake too. Thinking on it my plan would be to (somehow) put the LDRs...

    Obsidius Preamp

The Obsidious is a freaking amazing bass drive. Dark glass gives much love to the low end. You should check out the Binary project over at AionFx, it combines the OD of the Obsidius with a square wave fuzz on a blend pot so you can get a mix of both as well as a clean blend. @Robert yes please...

    Chalumeau LDR Suggestions

See my first post. The only reason I suggested paying attention to the wavelength is because a yellow LED is being used as the driver and you will get the most out of whatever range the LDR has if you match the wavelength.

    Chalumeau LDR Suggestions

If you pull a data sheet from Mouser or Tayda for a particular LDR it should give the wavelength response

    Chalumeau LDR Suggestions

Looks like it’s not particularly important which LDR you choose, but my suggestion would be to look for one that responds best to the wavelength of a yellow LED. The range of the LDR will simply affect the depth of the wobbles. Greater range = more wobble. I know real scientific explanation🥴

    Pedal trio for trumpet player

@Feral Feline yeah, I looked at the vocoloco but that is well out of the budget for this player. The eventide looks pretty cool but probably more than he wants to spend. I am going to try my PPCB simple jfet buffer after the behringer and if that doesn’t work I’ll start formulating a new plan. I...

    Pedal trio for trumpet player

Nice! I have watched a lot of videos lately of using pedals with brass/woodwinds. Seems the most popular types are auto wah/envelope filter, distortion (careful where you point that mic wicked feedback imminent), and delays. The octave is super cool though

    Pedal trio for trumpet player

if you take out the inline pre on his mic (apparently just a high pass filter) it has some weird mini XLR on it so I would have to adapt the adapter😑. Shouldn’t a basic jfet buffer do the same thing?

    Pedal trio for trumpet player

He does have a Deep Blue delay of mine on there now. Building in batches so as not to strain his pocket book.

    Pedal trio for trumpet player

I actually thought ab using chim chim and Spirtle’s faces as the the Up and Down labels on the Octarock, but couldn’t decide which would be which. Decided it would be better to just stay basic since this player has next to no experience with pedals in general

    Pedal trio for trumpet player

Might have to check out that Shure doohickey. The Trumpet player runs an audio technica pro 35 that has an inline pre so that may be the bottleneck

    Pedal trio for trumpet player

Was approached by a fellow marching band dad who plays trumpet in a few local bands who really wanted to dip his toe into the world of pedals. After setting him up with some of my personal pedals to try out he decided that these were keepers and commissioned me to build some for him. He said he...
