Lost friction in potentiometer after cleaning

Just looked at Kliche Mini. I'd guess that it's mostly the gain pot that's scratchy.

Lost friction in potentiometer after cleaning

If there's any DC across an audio pot, it will likely be scratchy even if brand new and good quality. Or, if there's no DC, you might have simply bought some crappy pots... What's the circuit?

    PPCB Mini JFET Buffer

Why not just do a passive split? A single op amp output can easily feed several inputs. I'd just use a separate series resistor for each output, perhaps on the order of 1k, so that if one of them gets shorted out it doesn't cut the others.

Lost friction in potentiometer after cleaning

It won't come back. Next time try to apply Deoxit only on the resistive track if you can. I even made custom, tiny nozzles from syringe needles to be able to aim more precisely. If you spray too liberally it can get inside the shaft where the grease is, and things will get loose. Having said...

    PPCB Mini JFET Buffer

Hopefully you won't get any interference from that display going into the audio. I bet it will require some careful PCB layout. I would definitely try some high gain pedal after the tuner to make sure there's nothing audible when the display changes.

New Production Germanium Transistors - What's The Scoop?

Do a quick scan through the catalogues of reliable, first-tier distributors: DigiKey, Mouser, Newark, and also (or even especially!) Asian-based ones such as LCSC. If none of them list germanium transistors in stock, then you can be pretty certain that nobody currently makes them, or you'd find...

    Bypassable Clean Blend

I might get (back) into pedals once I retire, which should be in about 586 days. IF, of course, pedals are still a thing by then... But, I mean, why would the pedal market need yet another maker? There's already 100 variations of every pedal known to man, and some of them cost peanuts and work...

    Bypassable Clean Blend

Basically mixers in a pedal format. OK, I should stop trying to come up with new stuff. Every single time, somebody beat me to it. Except for that anti-flashlight. You shine it on something and it goes dark. Problem is, the prototype isn't working yet 😒

    PPCB Mini JFET Buffer

I doubt you'd notice any coloration from either option.

    PPCB Mini JFET Buffer

Compared to a (good) op-amp buffer, this will have: - less headroom (the output can't swing rail-to-rail) - more distortion (if it matters) - much poorer power supply rejection (if there's noise in the power, it easily makes it into the signal) - higher output impedance - depending on the...

    Bypassable Clean Blend

Is there such thing as a "clean blend" pedal? Like, its sole purpose would be to add the option of a clean blend to some other pedal that lacks it? With a polarity reverse option, of course, to accommodate all situations?

You also tried a battery and still getting power supply noise? That doesn't compute...

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

I usually go straight to LCSC to search for parts to use with JLC's assembly. Much better interface, but I often end up using non-basic parts that incur the extra fees for loading into the pick-and-place machine.

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

Hmmm... Yeah, not fun. I imagine I'd desolder that transistor, flip it and solder it upside down (assuming I don't break the pins in the process). I've done worse things :) I'd actually use a fresh transistor if I had a stash, rather than try to reuse the desoldered one.

    Buffered Electrical Bypass Module

^ I would think it's easier to cut and reroute some traces on the PCB to get the pins where they need to be, rather than replace the SMD transistor with a through hole, no?

Hum from amp, buzz from guitar

@jwin615's troubleshooting checklist is very thorough. I'd just add that all humbuckers are definitely not equally good at humbucking, and NO amount of copper shielding the cavity will make any difference if the noise source is an electromagnetic field (such as leakage from a nearby power...

    Chalumeau TL071 instead of LM386

The 386's output drives an LED directly in this circuit. Maybe the extra current drive it's capable of was needed for this purpose. BTW, I wouldn't think that the cleaner tone with less distortion you're after would happen with a TL071. PT2399 is a pretty low fi/noisy/dirty chip at longer...

    My Procrastinator is distorted

I was going to jump in and offer some hopefully helpful advice but procrastination got the better of me. Glad to be here just in time to see that the problem is solved. Don't you just love it when that happens? 😁

    Tantalums vs Electrolytics

Certainly more effective and less expensive than an egg bomb these days, if you're American.
