SOLVED Son of Ben - Solder Pad Came Off

Your board is 100% ok. Here is what I would do. Clean out the pads needed for the B2M with a solder sucker. Use a little piece of clipped lead from a resistor to make your connection by sticking both ends in the holes and solder as you normally would any component.

    Octagon not working

You 100% did nor solder one pin of the B100k pot. I think the FV-1 could be fixed. There are two spots that appear to have bridges. Suck those out with a solder sucker and reflow. Even though it's ugly, it will probably work. Anyways, good luck. I threw away a couple of FV-1 boards when I...

    Octagon not working

Looks like you might have a short between the red and black wires right above the FV-1 from a strand of wire. Also looks like you might have missed soldering a lug on one of the pots. FV-1 soldering looks a little rough.

    Quick Cleaver question

Thanks so much Chuck. I had already biased to 9v after poking around on the web. If it's not too much trouble, would you explain why most boosts bias to 1/2 of Vcc? Thankd. I am trying to learn.

    SOLVED Low tide destroyed pad

You need to clean that board with some isopropyl to get that flux off. Some of the solder joints look a litle dodgy, especially to the 10:00 of the B100k pot. That ends my troubleshooting skills.

MT-2 / Metal Zone clone PCB

I don't know. My playing has been a lot more metal since I got vaccinated.

    SOLVED Low tide destroyed pad

I would follow the trace above the bad pad and just hardwire from that lug of the pot to wherever that trace goes.. No big deal, it will work.

    Quick Cleaver question

I guess my question is whether this one needs to be biased differently because it has the charge pump.

    Quick Cleaver question

The circuit is working with j113s. I want to make sure I am biasing correctly. I biased both fets to around 4.6 volts, is this the optimal way to bias? Can't bias by ear or my neighbors will call the police.

    Quick Cleaver question

I don't have any 2n5458s. Do have 2n5457, j112, j113, 2n5457 among others. Could I use any of these? I assume the goal is to bias to 1/2 of the 9v supply? Thanks in advance.

SOLVED XC Phase. sounds like a toy fire engine?

Only thing I can say more is that some of the solder joints look a little blobby, especially the one north of the yellow 'IN' wire.

Sherwood Treble - Bright Even When Turned Down

I am not the troubleshooter that many here are, but I would double check the pot values and reflow every joint. Since it is a relatively small parts count circuit, reflowing everyrhing should take just a few minutes. Did you use pot condoms?
