    Jameco LM308

For those with LM308s of questionable provenance - pull the compensation cap. If it’s a real LM308, it’ll sound broken. If it’s a rebadged OP07 (as a lot of fake LM308s are), it’ll sound fine (they’ve got built-in compensation caps)

Don't be surprised if the price of Germanium transistors and diodes goes up

I have I think like 200ish GE diodes between my stashes of D9Ks and D9Bs, and yet I still feel the need to panic-buy even more just in case, damn my paranoia!!!

    Obsolete parts… did I just waste $12?

Haven’t heard of them before, googling for reviews seems to imply that they have a track record for selling fakes. Not sure I’d risk it, I’d give 2181s from Smallbear a shot first at least.

    Obsolete parts… did I just waste $12?

Smallbear had CoolAudio v2159s for a bit, but they’ve been out for some time now. There are some THAT2159s on eBay of questionable provenance from overseas that are pricier than I’d feel comfortable gambling on. I asked @StompBoxParts if they could source them or the CoolAudio repros a while...

Wiring ADHD + buffered bypass + 2B boost w/ order switch

In theory it'd make sense to always put the buffer first, but the buffer board is proprietary, or at least designed specifically for use with the ADHD, not a separate effect, so whether or not it *can* actually be separated from the ADHD circuit. This would be very easy without the buffer...

Wiring ADHD + buffered bypass + 2B boost w/ order switch

Disregard my wiring, I deleted it because I didn't think it entirely through. That is the intention, though, one master footswitch for both circuits?

Wiring ADHD + buffered bypass + 2B boost w/ order switch

EDIT: Wait I misread what your goal was. So you want one master footswitch for both circuits, but want to be able to order-swap them?

I/O and DC jack enclosure contact

If you wanna save that step buy the @StompBoxParts jacks with the teeth https://stompboxparts.com/1-4-ts-enclosed-jack-panel-mount/

    D2O Boost (Dual Arche 125B)

I’m obviously no @Robert when it comes to layouts (much less circuit tracing. *shudders*. dear @Robert thank you so much for your traces and schematics), but I’ve been wanting to work on my routing skills by doing some 125B-sized dual-circuit boards, and a dual Arche set up like the OG Heavy...

And yet even with a bigger PCB, they had to use vias. Tut tut.

Pack RAT (stock, Turbo, “You Dirty” Rat clipping options)

I’m sure someone out there would love that but eh, sounds like option paralysis to me. I don’t even have 8 different clipping combos I can think of offhand that I think are different enough to justify that, personally. EffectsLayouts has a Rat board with a bunch of bells and whistles if you’re...

Should I make an onboard "activator" (active buffer with benefits)?

A few weeks ago I had someone ask if I could build something like the Mythos Blaster Boost, which I wasn't aware of. Clearly there's a market for these sorts of things still! Think you could fit it into the footprint of the Stratocaster football jack cup like the Stratoblaster?

Clipping switches on the Danae Overdrive ... what exactly do they do ?

So basically each switch chooses between 1 or 2 diodes on each side, and it ultimately gives you three options: - 1 on the left and 1 on the right is symmetrical clipping, with lower clipping threshold. - 1 on one side and 2 on the other (doesn’t really matter which side is which, they’ll...

    Hidden flash drive edition or???

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

Again, though, those things are almost never in PedalPCB build docs.

    Random diodes in Durham designs?

I can imagine like in a scenario where you're using a single PCB for multiple products and only populate the parts you need for a given circuit (I'm pretty sure I've seen Devi Ever and J Rockett do this) it could make sense, but I'm not sure that's the situation for either Snake Oil or for...

    Random diodes in Durham designs?

oh yeah I think that was the King Tone Blues Power? At least that one wasn't gooped.

    Random diodes in Durham designs?

Snippet from the Sex Drive schematic. So unless I'm missing something, LED2 is never going to come into play because D3 is gonna conduct first, right? Apparently there's also an LED with an unconnected leg in the Crazy Horse. Anyone know what the deal is? Last minute changes before going into...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

PedalPCB documentation almost never has any of that information though. Kind of the opposite, really - the PedalPCB ethos is basically “don’t make the weather, report the weather”, so if it’s an esoteric circuit with discontinued transistor part numbers, that’s what’s going to be silkscreened...

    Missing Build Docs / Schematics

    1. Looks like, yep 2. Not quite, the holes are closer to a 4-knob layout (0.65” from center), but with a center hole in the bottom row (Although in general you can put a switch in a pot sized hole with no issue) 3. Yep! 4. Basically. If you take a look at the PedalPCB Drill template tool...
