    FFS Chorus-EHX Small Clone

It’s that liquid-y metallic sound I’m telling ya! I’ve always found the mids in the CE-2 to be either too much or in the wrong place too. Plus-I can replicate a CE-2 with an old CE-5 with the right settings. I couldn’t tell in an AB test. Guarantee I could pick any small stone or mistress out of...

    FFS Chorus-EHX Small Clone

I don’t own ANY of those pictured. That DEM was mine and I do have a big black box Russian, the last of the two old units I kept, but I agree. They were shit! I was introducing visuals to the thread.

    FFS Chorus-EHX Small Clone

I think bigger meant better! Let’s face it the old big boxes and graphics ARE attractive. Can’t believe I don’t have a single DMM pic on my phone.

Which Plexi style pedal to build?

Depends on your pedal building skills. I’m building the Golden Falk now but I love the sound and simplicity of the Black Mountain. It can rock. The Plexi-Drive couldn’t get heavy enough for me but it was authentic sounding.

    FFS Chorus-EHX Small Clone

Looking forward to what all is gonna be in this series. EHX modulation pedals have a unique sound too them. Almost a liquid and metallic type top end but just the right amount. They’re my favorite as well and are also the reason I got into even using pedals. Pretty soon after I was chasing each...

    Sources for powder coated enclosures?

I’ve been getting mine from stompboxparts with no complaints. A good drill template, self tapping screw and unibit and I can have it drilled in 15 minutes. I always use a smaller bit to drill through the tap before moving on to the uni-bit though. I do wish they had more colors to choose from...

This Week on the Breadboard: The Golden F**k

It wouldn’t surprise me one bit if Marshall got the idea to use parallel channels in a pedal from someone else. 😂😂😂 It’s a decent sounding pedal. Takes a lot of finding the right balance of high and low knobs and has one hell of a midrange frequency that could be dialed down a touch or even...

    PedalPCB Samurai/Wayhuge Geisha

I’ve never heard that. I was always under the assumption it was a clean boost of sorts.

Aion Comet / DS-1, modded vintage version

Nice! I remember playing one for the first time thinking it sounded like arse…got Keeley to mod it and thought it sounded great. That was in 96 I believe and i somehow still have the receipt!

This Week on the Breadboard: The EHX Black Finger Sustainer

I’ll buy a pcb if anyone has them made. 😁

Sheepy Love Old Fashioned (Animal pedals Major Overdrive)

Being derived from a Skreddy circuit I had to build it and I’m glad I did! This thing rocks! I think I like it more than the Diamond Peak. To me it’s more amp like. Doesn’t have as much gain but that could be down to transistor choice and biasing of the Diamond Peak. Great touch response and...

    What's on the workbench?

I like PastFx but I’m gonna have to agree with you on both of these statements. I don’t find the blend control all too useful and the pedal is already too bright rendering the bright control useless. Wanna trade for a Monktress?? I’d prefer to have the newer PastFx Deluxe Matresse as I seem to...

    What's on the workbench?

I wasn’t aware of this pedal. I wish it was the PastFx Revolution! Verlie’s take on the G2…as I think it’s different than the Buffalo Fx version. The Revolution also has a mids knob that’s called “contour” and also thought it had an extra gain stage as it’s hotter than your standard G2 clone but...

    Pedal Faceplates

I appreciate it. Please don’t take my post as being an arse…I was simply making fun of myself and lack of technology lol.

    Vacuum Tubes

@Bambalam You have and EL34/6CA7 or EF86/6267 in that stash of yours? You ever come across any Ates 12AX7? They’re basically RCA out of Italy and instantly recognizable by their wide almost T shaped plates with silver tabs connecting each corner. I’ve attached a few pics. HUGE plates.

    Vacuum Tubes

I’ll see if I have any of those. Pretty sure I do

Skreddy Animals Major OD/HamishR Old Fashioned/Prey Drive PTP

JFETs do take sone time to grasp. I need to spend more time learning about them because it’s become apparent that proper selection is what separates a decent aiab or distortion from a great aiab or distortion.

Skreddy Animals Major OD/HamishR Old Fashioned/Prey Drive PTP

What are the noticeable differences in the two Skreddy designs to you? Do you have a favorite? Where can one find the Boneyard Diablo? Or can the ppcb board be modified? Actually, I don’t understand why @Robert doesn’t offer the Boneyard pcbs other than the couple that he does carry. I’m sure...
