What's on the workbench?

What the heck even is that? It looks awful

My guess is that it's a standard Muff with a Mid pot added to the tone stack...

For some reason I thought this one had an additional amplifier stage but now I'm thinking it was the LED drive MOSFET for the millenium bypass.

I've only peeked inside so far.

Is there any progress withh this one @Robert?

There are components under the pot... since it's a loaner I wanted to discuss it with the owner before removing the pot to trace/measure.

That's where we are now, just waiting to get my desk back. (Subfloor replacement is still going on)

Don't worry Scruffie, I know it was a planned pregnancy 😂

I did trace one, which was a nightmare. They had parts hidden under switches, etc.

I went a slightly different route but it’s all still in the same town. I had an original 70s Mistress for a while and that was the inspiration.

One thing that I did not like about the Mattress was the blend control. It never gets the same level of wet signal that any flanger without a blend does.

The tone control was weird as well. It’s basically a treble cut control and the fact it was so bright with it all the way up tells me something got crossed up in the original design.

Not exactly on the bench right now, but in the vicinity.

I wasn’t aware of this pedal. I wish it was the PastFx Revolution! Verlie’s take on the G2…as I think it’s different than the Buffalo Fx version. The Revolution also has a mids knob that’s called “contour” and also thought it had an extra gain stage as it’s hotter than your standard G2 clone but can cover a lot of ground from boost to tube driver to G2 tones.

I like PastFx but I’m gonna have to agree with you on both of these statements. I don’t find the blend control all too useful and the pedal is already too bright rendering the bright control useless. Wanna trade for a Monktress?? I’d prefer to have the newer PastFx Deluxe Matresse as I seem to be one of the few that actually prefer the Deluxe over the all the original Mistresses. Maybe it’s because I owned it first.
