I guessed that the 3PDT board might be the problem so I rewired it directly to a fresh 3PDT two days ago. I had a look at the schematic in the BYOC build document. It's practically illegible. In any case, I'm not terribly fluent in that language though I'm slowly working on it.

Yes, I have more or less finished it with the small issue that it is not working. The LED is flashing and the speed pot affects it but no sound. I'm not really sure how to wire the footswitch so that might be the issue.

If you're changing from a BC549, learn from my mistake: the pinout is different for the MPSA13. It's rotated 180 degrees.

I recently changed my Q10 for an MPSA13 and am sorry to relate it made very little discernible difference to my ears. I recorded a few phrases on a looper for the Before reference and it sounded pretty much the same after the Darlington switch. Try it though, as always YMMV.

Hi. I'm actually just now getting back to this project. Is the common cathode of the bicolor LED wired to the middle lug of that fourth pole on the switch?

Below is the documentation's advice for incorporating a speed indicator LED (though again I can't read schematics), for whatever it's worth. But I've built this Uni-vibe in a JJ enclosure so I doubt if it'll be possible to squeeze another mini-board in there.
