    DBA Germanium Filter (vero)

Turns out, they're in the PPCB shop. How's that for convenient.

    DBA Germanium Filter (vero)

I guess I'm going to have to build one, if I can source the transistors. I wasn't familiar, but I checked out a demo and feel like I must have one. Very cool graphic, by the way.

    Circulator (Boneyard mods)

When I'm comparing a new (to me) circuit to a classic that I love, my highest hopes are that it's 90 percent as pleasing to my ear as the classic and enough different to make it an interesting change of pace. You're making me pretty confident that I'm going to be happy with the build.

    Tape Saturator Build

That looks killer, man! I've got one of those same VU meters in a Son of Ben Preamp... purely for the nostalgia vibe, of course. If you cut many rectangular holes in panels/enclosures, you should try out one of these. I got one recently, and they work pretty well.

    Circulator (Boneyard mods)

That's high praise. It is one of the all-time great circuits. I've got a Circulator board in waiting, calling to me gently...

    Overcast Fuzz

Same. I socketed, so I might try lower-gain transistors later, but it sounds pretty damned good with hFE's around 180.

    Wonka Vibe (GuitarPCB The Vibe)

I built one of these last year and was not blown away with the vibe function either... although it does sound more vibe-y than phase-y to my ear. If you like sparkly chime, though, the frequency response is worth paying attention to. I use it like I would an EP-3 boost, to add some color to the...

    DEMO runoffgroove Splitter-Blend

Agreed, all the way around. If you're not familiar with HGE Contraptions, you're welcome. I want to build like he does when I grow up.

    DEMO runoffgroove Splitter-Blend

I think I know just what you mean. And I think I'll leave it at that. I've had a good result from every ROG circuit I've put together. If you're a boost guy, their Omega is a must-build.

    DEMO runoffgroove Splitter-Blend

First, sick build. Sweet, sweet curves in those wires. I go for that look frequently, and I know it takes sustained attention to detail. Also, tidy perf (and vero) make for some really cool aesthetics. Good innards all around there. Second, this might have saved you some time, but you would...

    Bass Klon (1590B content)

GuitarPCB has a board that puts the clean and dirty signals on two separate pots instead of the one dual gang. I wasn't wild about the result, but I built that one at a point when I was buying whatever components were cheapest and most convenient to source... and then not sorting for...

    Bass Klon (1590B content)

Nice work! I have two of those boards in my stable, and I've built neither. I try to cram anything in a 1590B that I can shoe horn in there. The best sounding Klon I've made so far was from a MadBean board. I haven't taken it off my board since I finished it. I think I put D9Es in there. I love...

What is in the signal path?

So if I'm understanding what y'all are saying, I should go all carbon-comp resistors and pretty much any caps other than tropical fish are going to make it sound horrible?

    Cannon Fodder MKII Distortion

Thank you! I just use an anvil. If you're not trying to stamp the sides (like in/out or 9V), the little 15-pounder from Harbor Freight works just fine. edit: I should probably mention that I use some fairly thick aluminum bar stock to support the face from the bottom while stamping. The lid...

    Cannon Fodder MKII Distortion

This was a very straightforward build, other than difficulty sourcing a 0.68 uf electrolytic. I subbed in a 1 uf, which seems to work fine. I went with shielded cable because "superdistorter". First time using bare bus wire from board to pedal. I like that and have already wired another in...

    King of Pwn

It's always nice to find a cultured person on the Internet. Thanks. That guy's small boards certainly played the biggest part in that. A latish-model Google Pixel. I don't have much knowledge of photography or optics, but I have wondered if a wide-angle clip-on lens would help. I put a pedal...

What is in the signal path?

Sounds like a good argument for SMD, and I guess if you don't go for old-school looks, that might be true. I could imagine situations where they could affect the aesthetic, if nothing else, and sometimes that matters.
