I have a fun idea that I need help with. I really love the Voodoo Lab Sparkle Drive, which is a TS with a clean blend. I would like to experiment with fuzz pedals that have a clean blend, because I think that would work really well in my bass rig. I figure it shouldn't be too hard to achieve...

I've stopped using them. I breadboard my circuit and carefully build it afterward. Sockets seem to have variable grip strength.

Oranges don't do it for me at high gain. Not enough note separation, too woofy, weird EQ curve... Not my thing. I want to hear my bass player. I've also downsized as I've gotten older and wiser. I discovered a cranked Mini Rectifier with a 1x12 will smoke the guys bringing full Orange stacks...

Guitar: Gibson SG Standard, preferably with 490R/498T pickups. Pedalboard: Twin Face (I really like BC108 for Si transistors) , Distortion 250 (use low Vf Ge diodes), Muzzle, Grand Orbiter, Seabed. Amp: I'm a Dual Rectifier guy, but lots of people like Orange amps.

You're probably better off with a nice Burny or Greco. Sure, they aren't $150 anymore, but they're still a good deal compared to anything of similar build quality.

Update: I changed out the 2N5087 for an AC128 to see what would happen. It's basically the same. I don't think gain matters a whole hell of a lot for the PNP transistor.

I love this forum. @paulbarrette , I highly recommend Schmalztech breadboards. Nearly 3M quality for a much lower price.

I ended up making a PNP version of the EQD Arrows, and it kills. Highly recommend it. I like phase more than chorus, and I was considering a Phase 45 or something. Tremolo is another fantastic idea, since my amp doesn't have it onboard. I love that idea... Looking into it now!!!

Your cell phone (at least 10 years ago) is a good example. Plug in headphones, switch contacts separate, no sound from the speaker. Remove headphones, switch contacts connect, sound from speaker.
