Glad you got it fixed! If I remember correctly there are two or three spots where there is a small mistake with the shielded coaxial. Usually you would connect the actual cable to carry signal but and never the shielding in two spots.

Rusty connections have a way to work in one position, get fiddled with and stop working until you nudge them again. I would give this a shot first really (at least before the tequila shot). The other problem with rust is the swelling with can make physical contacts unstable.
