Most versatile for me is the LectricFX Flintlock (A/DA). Crazy flexible without being fiddly. I'm a big fan of anything BF-2 based and my current fave is the recently completed HF-2. It's the best I have for very subtle stuff.
Aion Blue Shift is very cool. I've owned both an original CE-1 and a JC-120 and very much regret selling both.
My goto, ironically, is the Line6 MM4. It does a useable version of the CE-1, Dimension D, and a DynoTronics Tri-Stereo. Nobody is going to believe you're using the real thing but...
Board is done with the mod parts. Needs calibration yet but I'll be damned if this thing works as an HF. It definitely sounds different than the stock 3102 and I really like the fact that the bottom end seems untouched. Very subtle, this one is.
We won't talk about what I paid for shipping...
I bought in and picked up one from UTSource. I honestly don't expect it to be legit but threw all caution and common sense to the wind. I'm finally getting around to building up the BF-2 board and since my Cabintech chip came up as a dud I figured why not. I can't prove it didn't ship as a...
I built mine to the TS-25 spec and as I have a real TS-25 with a WGS spreaker I can attest that the pedal sounds bang on. I haven't had a chance to box mine up yet but here's a clip of the real amp with the gain about 1/3 of the way up with the boost on. Recorded thru the phone so take the...
Hugo questioned me on that (since technically white isn't a color). Not sure how this shook out but I really like it. Not my most imaginative pedal art but does the trick and the metalflake purple looks just stoopid nice.
I do recall playing an original back when it was new (sorry but the wrinkles are showing now...) and other than the big form factor I was much more enamoured with a then recently purchased CE-1 to take much notice. Damn I wish I still had that pedal.
Superb build and very much digging the...
I've never been the same since hearing "Bridge of Sighs" as a kid. Within a few years of that another ear worm was "Sing Child Sing" by Heart. Strangely enough I've seen Trower a dozen times and have never been as enamored with his live Vibe sound. I think he uses Fulltone boxes and to me it...
Sumnabich, it's really nice to have you driving the chariot again Michael. I love the BR's and vent my GAS thru your posts. I'll get to a Firebird one of these days but am going in the reverse direction lately and focusing entirely on my Yamaha.
What a great video. That is the best sounding vibe I've heard to date. It seems to totally nail the classic vibe sounds and toss in a lot of options. Right about the time you figure there are things in life that can't be improved on...
I could never get used to the Bourns for the same reason. You can practically turn them just by thinking hard enough. I think they might make a higher friction version.
I suppose you could hit the best of both worlds with a blank tele plate installed to flatten out the ledge created under the vol knob. That would look cool but to be honest I'm digging the color combo and stark look.
