    Amp Issues

As are these—or you can do a few layers of heat shrink over an existing pset of probes.

    Low Tide MPC602 opamp substitution?

I think @Robert usually references the original parts, if they are still available. With the original pedals, it really depends on who the maker was—very often, it's whatever was be least expensive, even if it's just a matter of pennies. Certainly with something like the wild number of Muff...

    Amp Issues

When you play clean, can you really push the volume through it? If it can play loud while clean, I’d recommend trying just your guitar, amp, and a single drive or distortion peddle, as a test. I‘ve built amps, but can’t pretend to really understand what the electrons are up to. But it seems...

    PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

I’ve built a few “dumb” loop switchers, and used 1x 2 inch aluminum tubing as a housing. I cut one of the 2 inch sides so that only 1/4 inch is left on each side, and screw in a thin plate of aluminum on the bottom, with folds at each end to close it up. (There is a slight notch cut into the 1/4...

    PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

Not that I’m opposed to building several varieties of switchers (or anything else, it would seem), but knowing what some of the other upcoming options might be would certainly be great. I know it’s still early in the process, and your starting this thread as an organizing one for the possible...

    Solid aluminum Chickenhead knobs!

My email from Antique Electronic Supply showed these, and I suddenly knew just what pedals have been waiting for them...

How about the next size up (chicken head)?

    Short transistor legs

I always do a thin tinning coat on both wires, then position them so they’re as tight as possible against each other and wave the soldering iron in the general vicinity. I just saw those Omnifixo clamps for the first time this morning—they look really nice.

Tayda 125b won't screw closed? - Use a Machine Tap!

The other approach to this is to cut the screw shorter. For screws up to #8, these work very well. (And on most “included” screws, which are usually shit steel, the larger sizes cut fine too.)...

Nontransparent Booster pedal for Strat and Tele

Chop Shop has been mentioned, and I also really like Champ Stamp, both at 18v. (Both are also transistor based boosts, which I’ve come to generally prefer.) Chop Shop doesn’t have any EQ controls, but is dialed in to somehow work with all my guitars anyway.

What's your favorite Bluesbreaker-based PedalPCB circuit?

Same here, Pot and Kettle is my only build of that genotype. It’s one of a handful of favorite boosts though.

    Barbershop Sag knob...

At times I really love what the sag does. It sounds convincingly like an amp that’s struggling to get enough power to me—the bass begins to weaken, the dynamics squash in, there’s a bit of lag sometimes with peaks that feel very organic to me. And that’s with me typically running the pedal at 18v…

    Fancy Solder Sucker

I’ve plugged various Engineer pliers in several threads, and gotta do it again. Next time you wear out a pair of pliers, or maybe you decide its a style you use a lot and would like a bigger or smaller version— check out what Engineer makes, get over the cost, and treat yourself. Vampire is from...

Charge Pump Breakout - Boost 18v to 36v?

The charge pump data sheet for the pump specified maxes out at 13 v input. There are several other pin compatible pumps, but I don’t think any work at that high a voltage; with luck you’ll get a more definitive answer soon from a forum member that really knows this stuff. Not as convenient, but...

    Polymer & Hybrid Electrolytic Capacitors

This is a worthwhile read also. Note that some technology, eg, tantalum caps, seem to have advanced since this was written. But Jung and Marsh were major advancers of audio thinking, especially around caps. https://www.reliablecapacitors.com/information/picking-capacitors.html

    Polymer & Hybrid Electrolytic Capacitors

Welcome to the forum, and the hobby! As you’ve found, this is a great community. I’m going to give a very half-assed answer (or non-answer) with the expectations that one of the many people here with true circuit understanding will both correct me and supply some good answers. My main exposure...

    Vote your Favorite Enclosure Color!

They all look great to me. Any color you've shown would look outstanding, especially with a knob that sets it off more, or maybe knobs that just blend right in... You've got the perfect style case to have 2 colors going—the outside panels and the top wrap—do you have your tolerances tight...

    Thoughts on non-DIY reverb

I’d also give a serious look at the Free the Tone AmbI Space. I had the SA bigger reverb (bad name recall, nemesis? Or maybe that’s the delay) which had tons of weird shimmer, etc. reverbs. Tons of controls available via the control interface. Sounded good to me, not great. The FTT unit has the...

Component recommendations for General Tso's Compressor

This is one of those circuits when the OPA chip is worth it. You’re in for a treat! This is my 2nd favorite compressor, behind the Effectrode LA-1A. If anything, it’s more neutral, but just doesn’t add that tubaliscious harmonic magic.
