    Seabed Delay

Nice build! I’m in full agreement with you. I was happily set up with both a digital and analog delay that really fulfilled any of my delay needs, but built this out of curiosity—and it’s just really lovely sounding. I currently have it located away from my other delays (which are near end of...

Pendulous Harmonic Tremolo Mockup Pedal - Arriving Soon!

Late to the party, as usual… Your “arriving soon” posts always act as a good indicator to me; besides always enjoying your mock ups, it’s a good way to keep up with the new board releases. Yes, I am stoked about this one. The Pendulum comes so close to matching the bias trem circuit in my Allen...

Pendulous Harmonic Tremolo Mockup Pedal - Arriving Soon!

Is this basically a Pendulum, but with more LFO controls? Ever since I built my Pendulum, I’ve thought about merging its audio section with the LFO control set from the 3ms Tremulus Lune, which has the best control section I’ve come across. Just haven’t gotten around to it, and may not have to…

    baking spray painted enclosures

We had a drying cabinet in my shop, for lacquers. Kept the temp around 120F. Just to speed things up. Some enamels do benefit from oven baking, but most solvent and waterborne spray finishes don’t gain any hardness or durability from baking. And, if it’s a thicker coat, baking can actually...

    Wise Ass Sheep (SheepyLove circuit)

Okay, so along with the crowd, Wow! Really really nice, every aspect! But what I wanted to say, was that your descriptive writing of the sonics were lovely to read. It’s a gift to be able to describe them as succinctly as you did—oh, and now I have add this to my build list, too.

    Pre-wired LED

If it’s prewired, but doesn’t have a built in drop down resistor (some do, most don’t), then just treat it like a regular LED. The red lead is positive (like the longer LED lead), and the black lead is negative. About half the time I add leads to my LEDs so I can have the location where I want...

    Trembling Loon

I have a build of this from many years ago, on perfboard, and it has the best wave controls of any tremolo pedal I've run across. I think you're doing the nicest printed enclosures I've seen! Yes—this is an addictive hobby.

    Adobe Illustrator Gurus

The closest auto filter that I’m aware of would be effect/brush strokes/spatter, but you’d still need to do a bit of tweaking either before or after applying it.

    Burning boxes

Really more smoked than burned. I’m really surprised that it seems durable enough to wipe the letter infill without just wiping away. I gotta test this to see how durable i the finish is. Sitting on top of an open wood fire, without forced air, I doubt it’s hot enough to structurally change the...

    Pot bushing thread adapter?

McMaster has the 3/8 x 24 at 1/8th thick, but I think it’s just a single thread nut; good price though. https://www.mcmaster.com/products/nuts/thread-size~3-8-24/height~1-8-2/height~0-125/

    A tip for your tip?

My iron has the auto ramp down and auto sleep modes, but before I had this one, I typically would turn it off if I knew that it’d be 30 minutes or more of down time. Part of me doesn’t like the on/off cycling, but the more modern set ups that do the ramping up and down make a lot of sense. I’m...

    3d print Shika Fuzz

Great job with printing and overall design. I really like the thin copper tape that has conductive adhesive on the back—but it would be fussy with thicker rails you have along each side. No fumes, and you know you have a solid shield.

    Ionizer Build

I like those knobs with the painting style. Unexpected, in a nice way. Like, the controls from the saucer they came in, or something.

    1973 Colorsound Tremolo

so, I’m reading this, dozy in bed, I must’ve nodded off. I wake up, see this image, reading it as the top view of a beautiful pedal, a deep maroon, with dimensional graphics and two minimal knobs.. I’m thinking, this is a wild pedal! Then, I woke up just a bit more…

DEMO General Tso Redux (Thorpy Fat General)- Demo Added

    What about 2 x 10 cabinets? They just don't get the love they should. I'll take a 2 x 10 over a 2 x 12 anyday.

DEMO General Tso Redux (Thorpy Fat General)- Demo Added

I'll get the Acer board with my next order. Currently, I rotate between the Pot & Kettle, Cattle Drive, Chop Shop, Champ Stamp, Nordland, and Transcendence. But I also think of the Equinox and the Mercurial in this same league (but with benefits); and anyway, those two are pretty much givens for...

DEMO General Tso Redux (Thorpy Fat General)- Demo Added

I really couldn’t hear a difference. Your recorded sound is typically really good, and this was maybe even better than that… In my search for my favorite low gain boost (hah!, like there will be a single one…) I keep circling around, some days, weeks, I hear a lot more differences than on...

DEMO General Tso Redux (Thorpy Fat General)- Demo Added

Michael—another killer demo, and this time with Starwars scrolling notes! This is such a small detail, that I feel petty bringing it up—but given how solid your reviews are, please take this as me just being as anal (as I am...). According to Thorpe, in the volume setting, the signal is 90%...

Pedals where 18v is *actually* worth it??

I will definitely update my tests with both pedals. The Tso really is a great compressor; for the gentle amount I typically use, it is very similar to my Effectrode LA-1A, only missing a bit of the atmosphere (“space between the notes, upper harmonic floats, etc.”) that I can hear, when playing...

Pedals where 18v is *actually* worth it??

Chop shop, Mercurial, Comprehensive, Pot and Kettle, and the Spectron (Aion Nordland) are all great to my ears at 18v. I‘m finally going to be taking everything apart to paint the boxes in a month or so, and while everything is just guts, also plan on trying both the Tso and Pendulum at 18v, but...
