PSA - ElectroSmith has apparently temporarily halted production of Daisy Seed

For what it's worth, Moog replied to me saying they have ordered 10 from their supplier, but 5 are spoken for, so if you get in touch with them they might have a few available (that was yesterday though).

PSA - ElectroSmith has apparently temporarily halted production of Daisy Seed

For what it's worth, Moog just sent me a note that if I ordered today I'd get it June 12. Also on the Daisy Discord someone from Electro-Smith said they are working on a Canadian distribution partner

PSA - ElectroSmith has apparently temporarily halted production of Daisy Seed

Sent you a message, just in case you still have any of these left

PSA - ElectroSmith has apparently temporarily halted production of Daisy Seed

Ooo I could be tempted. Don't have a project for one. What are you building? Also, I just got an email from Electrosmith this morning about pricing and stock, so I don't think they are halting production, but maybe Moog in Canada is going to adjust their price/stop carrying them?

    Son of Ben (Finally)

For what it's worth, this one sounded great with the regular cheap ceramic cap in C3 (I did have an MLCC 470 for C4 though). My friend is very happy with it

Thanks! I don't have the pedal in front of me, but I'm pretty sure that's a regular ceramic 250pf cap, not MLCC, as that's all I have in my parts stash too

    SOLVED EAE diy Beholder issue

Glad it's working! Don't worry, we've all been there. At least nothing was upside down, etc. I've been curious about the Beholder. How do you like it?

    SOLVED EAE diy Beholder issue

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but it looks like you don't have 2 of the transistors installed. I assume you've tried it with those inserted?

    Arachnid V2

That dot on the corner is meant to indicate pin 1. The PCB also has a notch in the silkscreen to show which way is up, so yeah, yours needs to be flipped the the way, unfortunately. Unrelated, but any reason you've got some parts floating off the board like that (the diode and at least one...

    Where did I go wrong...

Like @Fama already said, only in specific cases. Some folks like to try out different op amps in their drive circuits, for example, or if you've got a case where you have a vintage IC and want to compare it to a modern version (like in a Rat build). I've had cases where switching to a different...

    Where did I go wrong...

You solder the socket to the PCB, then just place your IC into the socket. Great for changing out ICs in cases where options matter and for troubleshooting. I'm sure most of us have been where you are before too, don't worry. Slow and steady. Going forward, just be sure to double check part...

    Vibe coding Daisy Seed

Interesting timing! I just built my first synth/effect kit using a Daisy Seed (the Synthux Academy Simple Touch 2) which has a bunch of open source firmware options that I'm curious to play with and see if I can adapt to specific use cases, etc. I'll follow along at the very least

Thanks! My friend (where it's going) seems to like it, so that's a plus

Thanks! I'm happy with the end result, but it took a while to get there

    Son of Ben (Finally)

Bought this board in an order a billion years ago, but when I populated the circuit it didn't suit my needs as much as I'd hoped (wanted more of an active EQ, in the end). Sounds great, but is finding a new home with a friend. The enclosure was a bit of a nightmare of my own making. Bought it...

    Ordering from Canada

For what it's worth, I just got hit for an extra $15 at the door from Canada Post for a small package, which was even labelled as a gift. The breakdown was $5 tax, $10 handling fee. Not a huge amount, but still annoying when not expecting it.

    Ordering from Canada

For what it's worth, I have a fairly large Tayda order coming up too and will use the DHL pre-paid option. It's gotten more expensive in the last while, but is still better than dealing with exorbitant surprise fees at the door. That's too bad about the latest PPCB order. I'm stocked for...

    What's your nemesis circuit?

There was a time a few years ago where I was frying FV-1 chips like crazy (killed about 5 of them). Never figured out how/why it was happening. Have built other things in the meantime, and bought new FV-1s, but haven't had the guts to try them again since

    Deflector Reverb

I appreciate all this talk of the Deflector not being so great, as I somehow fried the FV-1 in my build and never got it fully working (would work for 10 minutes, then die). Makes me not worry so much about what I'm missing
