PPCB Utisol (Dawner Prince Red Rox)

For some reason I’ve had the best luck with my builds working when I use the white enclosure lol. Just wrapped up one using the new Cosmic Lilac and it’s pretty cool. Think the Gray is probably my favorite but I do enjoy the exotic colors. I don’t care for the blue much for some reason which is...

    Cadmium Fuzz (Danelectro Nichols ‘66)

This is the last of my “exotic” enclosure colors so to speak. It’s the Cosmic Lilac from Stompboxparts. This is the Cadmium Fuzz/Distortion based of the Danelectro Nichols ‘66. They really released a group a cool pedals and this one is no exception. It has a little bit of everything. Fuzz...

Cannon Fodder (Caroline Wave Cannon) Build

Nice! Looks like a production pedal

    What's on the workbench?

Do I see an Option 5 Rotation Destination on the very bottom? The light blue pedal.

I love those too! They make life so much easier. Thanks to @MichaelW for helping a new comer… even though I’ve been a member since he has lol!

Yes it does have a kick in the lower frequencies I suppose to kinda simulate a 4x12.

PPCB Utisol (Dawner Prince Red Rox)

Wow talk about a sleeper for a distortion pedal! This baby will rock! This was a difficult build for me because the board is so small and the parts are so close together. It really showed me how poor my soldering skills were! I’ve got to get better. I used a repurposed enclosure from...

Stuff you wanted to know but were afraid to ask

Isn’t this pretty much the same as running a parallel blender? I use one of those Sonicake Portals, before owned an OBNE Signal Blender, to mix my wet delays or whatever in. The Portal can be set to run in series or parallel.

    Can we get a demo?

    Useful diode comparison tool

Please move this if it’s in the wrong location but u came across this site that lets you choose, compare, cross reference and much more diodes of many different types. Even lets you mix and match and plots the outcome out on a graph. Could be very useful...

    Nice!

    BJFe Folk Fuzz Deluxe

I’ve never attempted a vero build. I may enjoy but just don’t have the desire too at the moment.

Which Plexi style pedal to build?

I was a little let down with the Article 59 as well. I don’t dislike it but it sounded more authentic in the demos. It can be quite fatiguing on the ears as well. I’d have to say I prefer the plexidrive over it. The SL drive is one I could never get to sound right.

    BJFe Folk Fuzz Deluxe

Does a pcb exist for this? If not it should. I have the Fromel Phuz Si from way back that is almost this exact circuit except he uses a pot to blend between the clippers. The tone control was more like a hi cut. There may be more changes I haven’t looked. I’d fix it but unfortunately he used smd...

Well how did they teach you at school lol?

    Southland

Agreed. The Black Mountain is a great distortion for such a low parts count.

    Southland

I’ve debated on building this one. Is this supposed to be the “tweed” one or how would you describe the sound?

    Sheepy Love (Frizzler) Distortion

This pedal has some of the best string to note definition out of a distortion that I’ve heard maybe ever! It REALLY shines on high distorted open note chords. I wasn’t expecting that.

PPCB Candid Drive ( Barber Direct Drive)

Yea I tried messing up several times but luckily fixed. Then finished it up, I thought, only for it to make no sound when I plugged it in. Went back to my desk and just looked at it for a minute feeling sorry for myself….and noticed I’d wired the in and out jacks wrong lol! Fixed that and she...
