    DEMO Kewpie Fuzz

I love the enclosure wrap. Very whimsical and I love that it's gonna get cooler with age and grit and grime. I did this once and mine looked terrible so I haven't revisited. But this inspires me to try again. Very excited to get to building this circuit too. Muffs are the way.

    Modus Operandi

You can fill the stamp with dark paint and wipe the excess to make them a bit easier to read. I like metal stamps for the minimalist look.

    Free No-Name Electrolytic Caps- Garbage?

Just measure them first. I'm far less worried about them failing than them just having wide tolerances.

    Capacitor Sourcing in 2024

I source everything possible from tayda and have not had issues. I do avoid their cheapest options and use the ones with tighter tolerances when possible. Only when values are unavailable do I look elsewhere, and even then I will likely substitute if at all possible. I use MLCC pretty freely...

SOLVED Switch popping and noise galore with Bootleg and Glory Hole

Been reading this thread regretting offering to do a combo build for a friend. And now I will go and make sure my tayda order is for quality caps across the board. Good thread to learn on.

    4uzz - 4 classic fuzzes, 1 box

I love this idea. Killer enclosure and it sounds wicked too. But... I really want to see the insides...

[Ludicrous Speed OD] First attempt at a DIY pedal, not even turning on

I wrapped a bit of painters tape around all the places it screwed together on the cheap one I had and it almost doubled the suction.

Why doesn’t everyone use 9mm pots?!?

I could argue those are optional and then they take less space... I won't... But I could. Likely any pcb meant to fit in a 125B wouldn't really save much space switching to 9mm and, as was mentioned prior, the standard of dictates unless necessity necessitates. VFE uses a mix I believe? Or did?

    Why Fjord, Why?

I have no issues with 2 stomps in a 125B. but those knobs seem like an issue... unless the person who buys this is hooking it up to their switcher.... but even then it completely neuters the 2nd stomp anyways.

    Enchanted Boost in 1590A?

I have one populated and ready to go. Bookmarked for reference.

    Enchanted Boost in 1590A?

I love a good 1590 build. The Executive is definitely going on my list to do a small build for. Additionally I think being meticulous with drilling is important. Get the foot switch as close as humanly possible to the bottom edge. Keep the in/out jacks as far from the backplate (close to the...

Where and why do people buy Chibsons?

Finally we get to the meat and potatoes. Greta Van Fleet has been counterfeiting music for a few years now and people still support them. I find this detestable. Also cover bands.... sorry.. i couldn't resist.

    Do you clear coat afterwards?

    Pipe Stretcher/ Tube Bender

Maybe it is the lighting... but this looks so good with the oxblood and the red LED bezel against the light gold. Credit where credit is due, this is awesome.

    Best projects for doom metal?

You ended up in the right place by my book. Most other metal genres aren't nearly as chill and (to my recollection) there's a general leaning towards elitism among metalheads. Nice people in general but they took music a bit too seriously from what I remember going to all the shows and talking...

    Best projects for doom metal?

oh most definitely. I was maybe a little bit too tongue in cheek with my comment ha! Advertising doesn't work on me............. okay, maybe this time.

    Best projects for doom metal?

Matt Pike used to use the Atomic Cock ( https://www.pedalpcb.com/product/pcb548/ ) but he may know nothing about doom. That also goes back to things being subjective. I like to add a small bit of modulated delay a la the Magnetron Delay to thicken up the sound when dooming. It is nice also...

    Best projects for doom metal?

@Fuzz Wizard Have you built the Pharaoh Fuzz? PPCB Glyph. There are others who make versions as well including the Supreme version. Lots of gigging musicians rocking that.

I forgot that I wanted to make up a Sonic Titan. Good shout.

    Best projects for doom metal?

The Mofeta preamp is as doom as the night is black. The Bellum MkI is a fun muff flavor that actually responds pretty well to your volume and picking dynamics. EffectsLayouts Ache is a parentheses/lifepedal without the boost and a separate stomp for the rat circuit and the octave circuit...
