I write my preferred CLR value on my LED bags. That is probably a bit too specific to LEDs to warrant putting on a diode identifier sheet though.

I solder the smd parts to the board first. Never had an issue (except for that one time where the FET was fake and then I lifted a trace trying to swap it out), but I never even considered that it may be putting a lot of heat on the lil guys.

I've seen some use JB Weld but I don't have experience myself.

When I first built mine I had my LED installed backwards and I noticed that the saturation pot seemed to act a bit more like a gain control. There may have been other issues as well but maybe check your LED is in the property orientation. Good luck!

Others have mentioned something similar. Routing your wiring as far way from components as possible or even using shielded wire could help. But I your own troubleshooting thread with photos of your build would be a good way to try and figure out what's going wrong.

Super cool! I spent time with mine recently and it's probably one of the best fuzzes I've played. I dig how you went for it with the pot placement. That fuzz knob up top is absolutely buried in the bug web.

I've not found too many drive pedals to be that difficult to build outside of some where part selection is important. Generally they're straight forward builds once you know the basics. I would comb through troubleshooting threads and build reports of the lead solder and keep some sort of notes...

I'll have to compare schematics a bit just to see what's up. It does sound like it's got a creamier feel in the lows/mids and definitely sounds like it has more baseline gain on tap. The mids sound very gentle and less focused too.
