That’s what I do on all of my builds. It looks clean and it makes it very easy to remove from the enclosure in the event that you need to troubleshoot or modify anything.

The clone looks like a variant of the Orpheum fuzz. Here's what I'm seeing: Pictures that show the values of the remaining film caps and R6 would be helpful if you want to build a clone of the clone. Depth and Volume are probably 250k or 500k.

I used a 1k resistor for R1, but anything in the 470Ω to 4.7k range works fine. I'd recommend using a 2.2M or 2.7M for R4, but you could also use a random resistor (anything between 1Ω and 2.7M) and a 5M for the octave trimpot.

What’s going on with the jumper wires? It looks like the input on the relay PCB and the +9v are hard wired to ground, inter alia. Obviously that’s not what is going on, but I’m curious what is going on.

Putting the finishing touches on this take on the Hudson Broadcast/Dylan159 Narrowcast. It's got a germanium Q2 (with a few resistor tweaks to accommodate it), a charge pump, and a switch to select between 9v and 24v operation.

It looks like a silicon diode (there isn't the whisker and pellet setup that you usually see in a germanium diode). My Google searches suggest that it's a Sylvania equivalent to NTE116, which in turn is equivalent to the 1N400x family of rectifier diodes.
