    Modding a Gorilla TC-35

Awesome. I didn't realize that. I looked up the 3005 schematic and the preamp is very close to it with mostly the same values. R10 and R17 from the TC schematic are the main differences I see

    Modding a Gorilla TC-35

A quirk that I'd like to fix is that you can't make it just clean. When you turn the tube crunch knob all the way down, it is silent. VR1 becomes just a short to ground. Also, I'd like to figure out how to have a footswitch to go from clean to distort.

    Modding a Gorilla TC-35

I didn't realize Aion had a project for the preamp. Anybody build this one? How did it sound? https://aionfx.com/project/positron-preamp-drive/

    Modding a Gorilla TC-35

I got a free TC-35 and Im going to open it up and clean it up and deoxit the pots and whatnot. Any suggestions for mods or tweaks while I'm in there? The tone stack doesn't seem to be quite right, it has no bass.

    What to do now?

Understanding filters is a key component to audio circuits. Maybe start with something less advanced. Get a breadboard and play with some high and low pass filters in different parts of the circuit and see how they change the sound.

DIgitech X-Series PCB button footswitch = normally open or normally closed?

Bypass switches are almost always normally open. There would have to be something very strange going on for it to be normally closed.

Yes, contact them. That's some BS

PSA - ElectroSmith has apparently temporarily halted production of Daisy Seed

Looks like they also announced general availability of the "Seed2 DFM" with "Differential audio outputs for superior noise performance". Is this the answer to the noise issues? https://electro-smith.com/products/daisy-seed2-dfm

Any diy DJ mixer type projects out there?

I looked thru it all. Sorry, maybe I missed it but I didn't see any of those actively selling PCBs. The one that came closest is the Pathos but didn't see them for sale anywhere and it was like $300 for the set when he was selling 10 years ago Edit: Sorry, I double checked and I did miss that...

Any diy DJ mixer type projects out there?

It would be nice to have, but I think it could be added later with a send/return insert point. From what I understand, on a pioneer, it's the Color knob set to the filter effect and turning it left is a lpf and right is a hpf. That might be nice to built as a separate effect.

Thanks Feral but none of that is really what I'm looking for. :)

Any diy DJ mixer type projects out there?

I want to try to build simple version of something like a Pioneer DJM type mixer that has two or four stereo channels, cue mix out to headphones, and three knob eq. The only pre made pcbs I've seen the come anywhere close is the mfos mixer. Anything else out there that I'm missing...

    IC Sockets

I was having issues with the Tayda leaf type all time and I got tired of tring to guess if it was the socket. I just solder them all directly now and haven't had an issue since. I bought a batch of 100 from Tayda years ago so it could be something with specific batches. I have never had an issue...

Trying to get a very old amp OD sound..

I think some light CMOS clipping with a bass cut will get you pretty close to that

    Dual pt2399

I think all these mentioned have parallel delay lines. Sounds like you want an example of two in series for longer delay time.

What does this jumper between clipping paths do?

By "short out 2 diodes", do you mean something like this?
