SOLVED Madbean Total Recall 2024 - Can't calibrate

So good news/bad news. Good news is that (after replacing the chips I took off this build and doing a quick recalibrate) is that I've got no detectable clock noise at the delay output (after the compander) as was demonstrated in the sound clip earlier in the thread. So, this may come down to a...

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

Yeah, I tend to agree. It doesn't have to have to get unnecessarily political other than maybe recognizing that this is a deliberate act of sabotage on the world economy (IMHO, anyway). It's not even unpredictable market forces. It's insidious. If that's going too far then I'll keep my mouth...

DEMO MBP Current Lover 2023 (EHX Electric Mistress)

I'll put in a good word for my buddies at L'Ectric FX: I haven't built the Old Chap but I have built several other of their projects and never been disappointed. The Current Lover is quite bright as far as flangers go, but I can't compare it to the Chap. The A/DA is it's own animal as mentioned...

SOLVED Madbean Total Recall 2024 - Can't calibrate

Sorry, I had a lot going on this past week. I will get on this tomorrow if I can. Apologies.

I think 8803 might be 34% now instead of 25%.

I think the final maths is 54% total but I might be wrong.

    Jlcpcb and tariffs

I tried an experiment and placed two JLC orders this month instead of one big one. First was $200 and the second $250. No problems with Customs/duties/Tariffs. DHL delivery. It's crazy to think back in the early days I would regularly drop $2k+ on PCB manufacturing before places like JLC came...

SOLVED Madbean Total Recall 2024 - Can't calibrate

Well, that's not so good. Hearing some clock noise at the longest delay times AT THE OUTPUT of the BBDs is not abnormal because that's when they go into the audible range. But, the whole purpose of the de-emphasis filter and expander section after the BBDs is to push all noise down out of the...

SOLVED Madbean Total Recall 2024 - Can't calibrate

Yeah, that's not gonna work. I cleaned it up. I'll just have to check more regularly to see if there any registration approvals needed.

SOLVED Madbean Total Recall 2024 - Can't calibrate

I just changed the registration process to immediate activation rather than requiring and email and approved all outstanding registrations. This is a problem with either the forum software or the host: it simply refuses to email members now and then. Anyway, as to @Lorok I too am suspicious of...

How many of your builds get stalled out because you keep thinking of elaborate mods to add?

You just described my reality. My "ideas" are about 20/80 my worst enemy.

Can I tent/combine any of these values to make 750R?

Ahh. Well, in my defense I subcontract out my forum replies to this guy.

Something wrong with putting two 1k5 in parallel? When has 1k5 ever done you wrong?

Do you prefer lead or lead-free solder?

Currently I am using leaded w/ water soluble flux (Kester 331 63/37).

    KiCAD or Eagle?

I use Eagle because that's the program I learned on. I think KiCAD might be the way to go for new users to CAD software. With Autodesk, one never knows how long they will keep a piece of software going. As for your side question: Hand drawn schematics are fine so long as it is legible. There's...

    Castellated holes on Eagle

I have an alternative: copy the library part, remove the left pad and simply make a half circle cut on the dimension layer. You can still fold the tab over the PCB to secure it and no expensive uncharge is required.

    Castellated holes on Eagle

Hmm, I actually have never tried this with Eagle. But, I know who would have the answer: Kevin over at Aion. Also, this: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/eagle-forum/board-with-castellated-edges/td-p/8923086

So what exactly does True Bypass mean?

I think there's a much simpler solution here. You shouldn't need to buffer your tuner output in most cases, unless it's a really so super old or cheapy one that loads down its input. Most modern tuners have true bypass and likely a high input impedance when on. This means you should be able to...
