Hey looking for STEM projects to do with my son, was thinking this arduino would be cool. As well I’d learn too. Anyone bought one the many starter kits and liked it? Or a suggestion for getting started.

I did mine with a sub mini so i coukd seitch it on the exterior. I think i connected mine with wires though, its been a few years. Its useful enough that i think it should be an exterior switch. On my timmy board i did up it was one of the mods i put on it.

Im going to suggest the two pots on the switch I think. That should allow the momentary. Could just do a concentric pot and would work I think. I dont have the pedal here to experiment with unfortunately was just going to draw a wiring diagram for him

Thats kind if what i was thinking. But apparently when you move the pot on the pedal it takes over control from the expression pedal. Which leads me to believe its not truly switched.

I do simple faceplates from jlcpcb. Szulaski’s sheeplylove libraries have some templates already in there. Think it comes out to about 5$ shipped for 5 faceplates. I believe you could go for fancier ones from amplify fun as mentioned.

Hot air soldering stations are awesome for this as well.

Huh I mix alpha and tayda pots all the time. Only time i ever recall having any issue was with a low tide build i couldnt get one pot to sit without the shaft being angled. No clue if it was tayda or alpha. I order pots from wherever I’m ordering from atm. Stompboxparts def has better...

I’ve had successes and failures from both amazon and ebay. Amazon ive bought several 13700’s no issue, 1044scpa issues (now i buy those from digikey so much cheaper…).

I feel like the bad pt2399 issue has gone away? Ive been building since 2020 and have never had a bad one. Sourced from tayda and stompbox parts. Unless the bad isnt super obvious and I’m missing it I suppose.
