Supreme Court rules DJ's tariffs illegal

It will be interesting to see what happens with the fees associated with collecting tariffs that DHL etc. charged. Since tariffs are now finally ruled officially illegal, they collected fees for something that is not legal. Complicated times indeed.

    Changing up tubes

I’ve got an Egnater Tweaker 15 combo that I’ve been using for a while and I really like the three voicing options and overall tweakability. That said I can’t help wanting to tweak the Tweaker a bit more. I’m think about doing some tube swaps. Would putting a 12AY7 in the V1 position be a good...

    What's your current headache?

Oh - when it was announced it took every single ounce of self control not to jump up and do the dance of joy. Luckily I faked it with the "I just heard you are getting divorced" empathy look and head nod.

    What's your current headache?

I’m not bored, I’m unmotivated. On 2/2, we launched new software that was nowhere near ready. For a company our size, implementation should take 12–18 months to properly test and refine. We did it in six and it shows. Tasks that used to take a minute now take 10–15. Meanwhile, my boss who was...

    Why are people like this?

I know with Reverb they monitor chats and will flag it them if there is discussion of selling offline. A little shocked fleabay doesn't do the same thing.

Don't forget to change your strings!

In my 20s I was playing guitar and bass for hours every day. I’d change the strings on my main electric about once a week. My acoustic, which I barely touched got changed maybe once a month. One of the perks of working at the studio I was at, I had a full tech station and a pile of free strings...

    Why are people like this?

From what I’ve seen in the past, if you figure out his “vision” it’ll probably end with him asking you to hook him up and promising you “exposure” in return.

    Where are the knobs?

Trying to figure out my aesthetic, I’ve got 42 different styles and colors in stock right now… That said, I’m starting to lean toward a pro audio vibe like the UREI, Neve and API styles from Tayda and the Fairchild look from LMS. I’d also love to do something inspired by the SSL console...

    External SSD drives

I use the portable Samsung SSD for my audio and graphic files, does well. One has started disconnecting and reconnecting when my computer goes to sleep though so may replace it just to be safe.

    What's your current headache?

Levi's was a client and we did an event where their tailors would make a guitar strap from denim. Even the pros were having a hard time with it, especially wanting the rivets and 5th pocket on it.

Is it possible to create a brickwall limiter that doesn't disort on over the limit peaks?

A brickwall limiter is probably not the best choice if you’re just trying to tame a couple of peaks. With a brickwall, the signal is completely stopped at the ceiling, it’s literally like hitting a wall. Nothing gets through. A regular limiter is basically a very aggressive compressor at a...

    Mid/Late 80’s ProCo Rat

I'll give you tree fiddy! Good estimate on the date, the pots are from 1986 which should have the LM308 in it, but can't see in the pics.

    Preamps builds: Figment & Decadence

Looks great! I like the Figment quite a bit, have the decadence in the cue. For the decadence, I have been looking for peavy style knobs without much luck, Ireally like how you incorporated the coloring behind them, may steal borrow that idea!

    Benchtop Drill Press Experiences?

Seconding all these comments, a drill press is a great investment. I was looking to up grade my 8 with some of the models mentioned here but came across a 10" on marketplace for $40. Good shape, works well, just dirty and the AA batteries for the light were about to burst.

We have a couple curling clubs in Denver metro, they usually offer intro classes. Tried it a couple years ago, it was a blast!

That is much quicker that it has been. I haven't ordered enclosures from them in a while, stocked up with a dozen spares. The turn time was crazy.
