SOLVED Troubleshooting the pile of shame

Welp. I don't know why I didn't try that the first time, easy fix. Thanks @Diynot

SOLVED Ritual fuzz no output signal

Some amount of hiss seems normal with a high gain pedal, but everything acts as an antenna, so any wire you can make shorter, or lead you can trim down closer to the solder connection should help reduce noise, but it may not make a difference in the hiss. A buffer in front might help with noise...

    War (Bellum Mk.1)

Great design! I'm constantly tempted by this one but currently trying to build at least some of my backlog before ordering any more pcbs.

SOLVED Troubleshooting the pile of shame

I built a DEFX Zuperbee(SSBS Buzzz) which is a Superfuzz with a bunch of toggles. I didn't pay attention to notice that the orientation of q4 and q5 were reversed and ended up putting q5 in backwards and then scorching/lifting the collector pad when I wicked off the solder and pulled it out. I...

    Aion Spectron(Lovetone Meatball)

Ok, I just played around with it. All of the switches and rotary knobs work as labeled, with the possible exception of "mod" which I can never tell if it's doing anything.

    Aion Spectron(Lovetone Meatball)

Thanks. Other than mixing up the sensitivity and intensity controls I think everything is correct, but I also haven't really thought about it. I mostly just fiddle with knobs and have switches associated with the sounds they make in my head. I'll do some investigation later today and get back to...

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Good call, thank you very much, pins 4 and 5 were not making contact, would have been a nightmare to troubleshoot. I found a KB v2 schematic along the way, if anyone needs one for continuity checks DM me.

The More Trippy, The More Far Out Man, The Better!

I really like the EAE Beholder for getting out there, but more in a noise destruction sense. However, with a clean blend added and the fuzz and tone turned down a bit you can get some great smoky psychedelic layers of feedback floating behind the rest of your playing.

    Genuine spring reverb build recommendations?

Does it need to be pedal format? Mod electronics makes a cool looking tube driven spring reverb kit for what I think is a very reasonable price. I haven't built the kit, but I'm using one of their tanks in my amp head as part of an ongoing quest to make the circuit sound better and less noisy.

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Thanks, I assume CP is the 9mm pot? I should have the remaining resistors and my new testing rig by the end of the week, I'll add the pots then and start testing.

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Mostly finished the component side of a Klein bottle, ran out of 1/8w 1k resistors and don't want to cram in 1/4w since I'm waiting on the enclosure from tayda anyway. I really hope it works, my only other vfe attempt is still on the shelf of shame.

Analog Tube Power amp simulator: studying possibilities

Part of the sound you're missing might be the transformer. IMO it has the biggest effect on the sound of any part of a tube amp outside the circuit design itself. If you want to keep the portable format it might be worth trying out some small transformers for output coupling, I think Hammond...

    The Pink Panther

Looks real nice and I bet it sounds alright too. I like muffs and germanium fuzz, looks like it's time to finally breadboard something. Unless someone has a boneyarded ungula board they want to sell me in the USA?

Chuckaround(Buzzaround by Chuck D Bones/PCB by finebyfine) and TAFM(DEFX Subarashi)

Thanks, I think I have a J113 somewhere, I'll play around with it when I get back I town this weekend.

    Advice for Playing Live???

If you want to get in some practice with live performance, try to find a local open mic night. Many of them are weekly, so plenty of opportunity to work out the kinks of playing live. Like many things, performing gets easier with experience, also have fun.

    Deciding on first amp build

Not everyone's cup of tea, but I've been eyeing the GT120 pcb at Hillbish design. Not a kit, but chassis and faceplate are available on the site and the pcb includes wiring diagram and bom, so not far off from a bigger ppcb project with deadly voltage.

I got a Fluke 107 for $75 on an amazon flash deal, it's not a 115, but it's not bad and they're currently on amazon for $87
