Tonebender Mk1 Transistor sets at now at SmallBear

I got my Small Bear MKI set in the mail this week and set it up on the breadboard yesterday. It sounds pretty good right out of the box with standard component values, didn't really have to do anything to get it to work. I'll be tweaking a little to tune it up but it already sounds decent. The...

Tonebender Mk1 Transistor sets at now at SmallBear

Here's Macaris demo of their MKI. It's quite squishy with a very thick fuzz. https://www.instagram.com/reel/ClJU3xfglLL/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

    CONTEST Fuzz Face Fridays

This is probably the best fuzz pedal I've ever made, a Jack Deville (Mr. Black) Vintage 2-Knob Fuzz, which is a slightly tweaked FF, or a slightly tweaked Tonebender mk1.5, made with a couple MP38As. It does an excellent heavy fuzz, but is very well-balanced, not sludgy and gets a sweet "chirp"...

    CONTEST Tube Screaming Tuesdays

More Screamer-adjacent content! :D The 808 is a Hudson Sidecar and Nucleon's Son Of Screamer that includes a focus control like a Zen Drive. Also features the Cludge of the Month: 2 chunks of hot melt glue stick to keep the Sidecar board away from the cable tip. I used a generic OC44-type PNP...

What should i do with this 1590G enclosure?

    I'm planning on doing a proper build report on this, but I recently got this old 1590g out and put in a hybrid One Knob Fuzz. Plenty of room in there:D! ECHO. . . . . . . . echo . . . . . . . . . . . . . . echo!!

    pickguards

Chandler has a violet pearl that might be in the range of your color, although a little darker, and it's pearl not solid. I've ordered from them in the past and they do good work. https://www.pickguardplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/COLOR-236-VIOLET-PEARL.jpg...

    CONTEST Tube Screaming Tuesdays

Fizz, it's been a while but I'm pretty sure I was using Papilio white opaque water slide decals and a regular ink jet printer (can't remember which one, an Epson one most likely). Thanks so much Fig, there's lots of amazing builds in this thread already!

    CONTEST Tube Screaming Tuesdays

Here's my Creeper from back 10 years ago when my son was really into Minecraft. Sadly, the most I can say for offboard wiring skills improvement is that I use zip ties now! I didn't realize the diode switch was on/off/on (and is probably wired wrong) so somehow the middle position is super loud...

Multiple connections to Lumberg DC jack

I've sometimes used a daughter board made from a small, 2-track piece of vero. You can connect the leads going to your DC jack and then cut it to accommodate however many hot and ground connections you need. Doesn't take up that much space.

    Some cheeky builds..

Those all look great! I was really interested in your Adjunct Drive, and then realized I already made one on vero. 🙃 It is indeed a great sounding drive! What germ did you go with? I ended up with a generic that I originally intended for a Rangemaster build.

Revisiting Pedal builds you didn't like.....

I pulled my Muff Fuzz build off the shelf over the weekend to have another look after many years. I tried switching out transistors and input/output caps but still came to the conclusion that I don't like it. But, I built it in a 1590g that I really like the looks of so I still want to put...

    Headphone Amplifier?

Is there is already a discussion thread for the new HeadPhone Amplifier project? If not, can someone fill me in on what it's all about?

I too built a Mojito Deluxe, and some others :-D

Hi folks, here's my Mojito Deluxe build! I found some BA482 diodes to make sure I get all the magic. I'm still playing it to see how it fits in with my other gear, it's very flexible and sounds good at a variety of settings so I'm trying to figure out how I want to use it. Surprised to find I...

    CONTEST Headphone Practice Amp 🎸

Hi Fig, I've been using a Line6 Pocket Pod (with guitar) for years. It sounds pretty decent and you can save your own custom rig presets. My only complaint is that my pedal setup causes the PP's input stage to clip in a way that doesn't sound bad but also doesn't sound like my amp (Blues Jr). I...

Which King of Tone do you have?

Not a proper KOT but sort of KOT-adjacent: mine has a Morning Glory and Nucleon's take on the Bluesbreaker. The Morning Glory sounds great by itself and they sound excellent together.

Flock Harmonizing Fuzz - Arriving Soon!!!

Can anyone give their elevator pitch for the difference between the Swarm & the Data Corrupter? I watched a few vids and really liked the sounds in ThePedalZone Data Corrupter vid, but not so much in others. Maybe depends who's playing it? The Swarm sounds interesting too but again depending on...

    PedalPCB builds in action....

The music sounds great!! I don't have many modulation effects on my P&W board, just a tremolo, but the dirt effects need to cover a pretty wide range from light to heavy. And yes to the Gretsch, they are super flexible guitars that always seem to sit great in a live mix.

    Shocking Pink!

So whatcha gonna build in your Love My Switches Limited Edition Day-glo Pink enclosure? Pink-purple Fuzz would be an obvious choice. I built one on vero a while back and liked it but it just didn't work well with my setup and I was wishing I could get more high end out of it. Maybe I should give...

Water Slide Decal on Sparkle Paint

I tried a similar type of glitter paint on an enclosure. To get the right glitter coverage required a pretty thick buildup of paint, and the resulting surface was very very rough. I tried spraying a couple coats of clear over top in hopes that it would fill in low spots but it didn't work very...

This Week on the Breadboard: BJFe Arctic White Fuzz

I built a version of this a few years ago and also felt like the tone control needed more range. Should probably give this another try with your mods. Thanks for the build report!!
