    Pedal Haiku

Germanium sucks. Overpriced. Inferior. But tone is inside.

Da, Comrade, The Soviet Horse Muscle! (Ungula)

So, when I first tried out the EQD Hoof pedal, which the internet absolutely swears by, I was actually pretty underwhelmed by it. I was much more enamored with the EHX Op Amp Big Muff, which I ended up buying (my first pedal in at least 12 years.) Between then and now (honestly, a span of maybe...

UPS hit me with a brokerage fee from Tayda

Huh. How big are these orders? I ordered 5 enclosures sprinkled with a load WIMA crackpacitors once and it was still maybe $12 from DHL, and UPS was about the same. I rarely use USPS, but that's because no one wants to see me when I don't have my solderin' time in the evening.

    Solid Vs Stranded Wire

Most of my wire is solid 22 AWG. I strip off the insulation between the board and the 3PDT breakout board to make it look cool. For longer connections, I use 24 or 22 AWG prebonded stranded from Smallbear. Which I think is what @cooder is talking about.

    Tayda UV Printing

Not to jinx you or anything, but when I submitted my files for the "Siren" build (p. 25) all the colored bands actually overlapped each other. I spent a few hours manually correcting it in Affinity Designer only to have the result print just fine with the "bad" file I had already submitted. In...

    TUTORIAL Amentum Boost

This is great. I've been breadboarding here and there, but I always like to see how other people do it - you never know when you'll learn some cool tips and tricks to try out!

Is there an "electrical" servo? Because google is apparently not my friend today.

Heads Up! Tayda LDRs ----- Waitrony KE-10720

Actually the opposite. Whenever I don't use soap, my impedance increases.

UV Printing/Drilling/Faceplates through AmplifyFun (Tayda alternative)

I'm just commenting because I want to see any further developments on this thread. You know, if it ends up blowing up like the Tayda thread.

    Let's talk about wah pedals

No idea. I've never owned a wah pedal so I don't know how they're assembled.

    Let's talk about wah pedals

I've heard from multiple places that those don't have tapped holes. So buyer beware. (I don't have any taps and I've never done it before.)

    Tayda UV Printing

I usually do a gloss on only the graphics I've introduced. For the Siren above, the entire artboard was covered in graphics, so I just threw down a solid rectangle in the gloss layer.

    Tayda UV Printing

Affinity Designer is now my jam. Siren = Caesar Soviet Horse Muscle = Ungula with MP38A's. The Siren has a matte finish, and I must say, I rather like it.

    Tayda UV Printing

I only ever ordered one Tayda print job on a pre-drilled enclosure. I had tick marks all around the knobs, so the fact that they were just a little bit off was very noticeable to me. Since then, I've just been leaving markings for the center punch at every location. I'm really liking the...

    Spirit Box enclosure and Knobs

LMS is where I go for pretty knobs. Stompboxparts is where I go for more standard knobs such as any Davies clones - 1510, 1611, or 1900. There's a lot of overlap and I like supporting both.
