What does right side of Twill Deluxe do, exactly (Les Lius)?

Well it looks like I know what I’m doing when I get home. Digging out the Twill that I have in the box of other boards I need to troubleshoot. It’s been in there for a year because I thought one side of the thing wasn’t doing anything.

Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

That Spooky Tooth tune sounds similar to Sweet Leaf by Black Sabbath. Just an observation.

Are you building or are you playing?

I was building like crazy, until July, when life got too busy. Now I have a a few gigs coming up, so I have to practice. And I’m happy with that. And of course I have a dozen un-boxed, un-finished boards that are getting dusty. But winter is coming… that’s when the soldering iron heats up.

What strings do you guys use?

I started on Ernie Ball slinky’s, and stayed with that brand for at least 20years. As I started playing more, I was replacing them often. Like 4 times a year. When they would loose there Twang. A few years ago, I switched to the d’addario XS. They are Magic! I love them. They bend further with...

CONTEST Hey Buddy, Built Anything Lately?

My most recent “Completed” build was way back in May!!! An Octarock. I’ve had a long summer, with limited building time. Damn life and all its hiccups!

    1590lb builds

Check out Henretta Engineering for some inspiration. Or scoop up one of his little knobless boxes. I have the Purple Octopus. It’s a green ringer in a 1590lb. If I ever have an extra few $$$ kickin around. I may commission one of his consoles...

    Jack White Spring Reverb

Last week I was in Detroit for the Incubus show. I dragged my special lady friend to the Third Man record shop. It’s a great spot, lots of vinyl, tshirts, and some toys. I didn’t see the Grotte pedal. I would’ve enjoyed giving it a stomp. The Ramp feature intrigues me. Where the effect fades...

    Fuzz suggestions

I love these kind of threads. I’ve built a few dozen fuzzes; but now I have to look into a few more. Just in time for a long weekend sale. Woot woot!

    Uberfuzz not working

I would suggest using an audio probe, and reflowing all the solder joints. Cold solder joints happen to the best of us. I have a few boards that have similar issues. They pass a signal, but it’s very weak. They will get the audio probe, when I get the time and patience.

    ReproFuzz

I’ve always felt that the trash cans needed to be painted with glow in the dark paint. On top the white dots. Great looking build by the way. What’s up with the black washer? Make that yourself?

    Tupperware

I have a few male to female jumper wire sockets. And was eye-balling a few packs at a local brick and mortar store. I’m gonna whip something up when I get the chance later this week. I love the idea of using a cutting board. Haha

    Tupperware

I’ve never seen that clamp thing, and had to google it. Very clever. I think I may splurge and buy a bunch of sockets. See if I can’t improve this Tupperware. Like, attach them to the jacks and stuff.

    Tupperware

When I build, I test the guts before popping them into an enclosure. Most of the time, they're loose on the floor. And in the past, if I wanted to jam/gig with the circuit, I would use an enclosure that I fawked up drilling, or, occasionally a cardboard box. Instead of getting a prototype...

    Ginormous fuzz

I’d look at that switch placement as a blessing. Because now you can fill the rest of that box with more circuits, more switches, more Knobbss!!!

When was your last pedalpcb order?

I go about 3 months between orders on average. And I just placed an order this morning. Mostly Electra distortion variants. And I DO plan on putting a few together in one enclosure, because I am that cool guy, Guy!

    Synth I’ve Been Loving You…

I started with the Beats, for a simple drum machine to practice guitar with. I still use it for that. But after watching some youtubers show off their volca stylings, I wanted the Keys for some classic weird synth. No regrets with that purchase. I haven’t bonded with the Volca Sample. Maybe...
