    Boss PX-1?

Do I now need a smart phone to play guitar? Ask keyboard players about the hassle with the Roland cloud... I'd rather stick with my VF-1 (and my XV-3080).

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Interesting to note that an LM13700 OTA can be directly replaced by a NE5517 OTA. I haven't been aware of the later one so far, which is seemingly out of production.

For those who were looking in vain for Beko (typo), the enclosure is called TEKO.

Tape Delay II by @Aleph Null on vero board in a Beko TEKO B4 case. (I knew that there would be one mistake because the build worked straight away). I had one PT2399 left over in my drawer for years and wanted to have this delay quickly, so I postponed other builds. Thus no fancy graphics.

    Nein

My quick search revealed a different T7 transistor tester, only. Anyway these boxes are (mostly) "implementations", respectively "ready to use products" of open source projects.

    Nein

Indeed, Same observation here. Seemingly that's a different (newer?) firmware. Shouldn't be a big deal to update that.

    NEIN fuzz

I also just used three SMD J201 from the same batch in my build and they were pretty close according to the measurements of my T7 tester. I can hardly imagine that pedal manufacturers match them. So this was my first Fuzz, but I'm still looking for one that sound like that (without buying the...

    What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

Yes, but hardly degrades, particularly if it has no contact to oxygen/air. Manufacturers simply have to put an expiration date on everything, and thus they go the safe way. I'm using solder with a rosin core that is presumably from the 70's and it's as good as new. Newer fluxes are also pretty...

An expiration date of ten years, that's very pessimistic for inorganic matter :ROFLMAO:

    Nein Fuzz

Thanks for the recommendation on how to improve the spray painting. I prefer powder coated enclosures, but these always sold out at musikding.de and they are way more expensive at other domestic vendors. Thus I ended up do the painting job myselfs. Interestingly the somewhat larger (but thinner)...

    Nein Fuzz

Do vero boards count as build report? If so, here's my Nein Fuzz. Somehow I struggle spraypainting these kind of "raw aluminum" cases. Despite applying metal primer first, the paint doesn't stick so well. Put a label in the wrong place, removed it and the paint came off with it. So I ended up...

Are we fooling ourselves when it comes to diode softness?

A common modification of the TR-909 Bass drum uses a similar trick: Here the fixed resistor R52 is replaced by a 10k poti to introduce more distortion. Pitch the bass drum as high as it gets and you've got instant Teckno.

    What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Unlikely source of error: A faulty DC power socket. Inner pin does not make contact once the jack is plugged in. A least this was easy to find and to replace.

    Experiment with the Meter tuner

I guess a higher resolution around +/-0 plus maybe a more pronounced change of the background color when fully tuned (e.g. red to green), would come in handy.

    Muffin Fuzz variants

A major modification seems to be that one (no tone stack): Landau density matrix Upvote this one, guys!

Was that cabinet intended as a kind of safe? Doesn't look pretty sturdy to me.

    Skeptical Buffer

The data sheet for the TL072 and OPA2134 state maximum power supply at +/- 18V, whereas +/- 15V for the NE5532. Thus the later is somewhat boarderline here.
