@Robert Thanks for checking. In the FSB post he said 1uF but on the schematic he drew, it is written as 1uF and noted as C23. I will double check with the poster.
Just came across this.... in case you wanted to know, you run the 100n film cap in series (not to ground) from the input on the footswitch board to the in on the main PCB. this takes care of the DC and the RPD (1M or 2M2) will do the rest. It's good practice since not all pedals play well...
Just reviewed the schematic. One difference between the 1959 SLP and the other Marshall pedals is a VREF clamp diode (D101). This is the first time I think I have ever seen this done. Also not in the other pedals. I wonder why they felt it was needed....
I have a box of Russian germanium NPN transistors that had too low HFE (40 to 70) for my pedals so they sat there unused. I think I will see what I can get from them in this circuit on the breadboard.
yes... in the Silica fuzz there are two transistors - lower gain - with a trimmer to adjust the HFE.... I am wondering how is this measured to get to the desired HFE?
I found this on DIY Guitar Pedals (Paul) on You Tube where it looks much the same circuit except the Silica doesn't have the ceramic caps so the highs will be different. The video is great at explaining how this works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3tokiKDmIE
In my build, I have three problems, one is a tick sound in the Block mode, second the sweep drops out like in a 45 but in the 90 mode... I have checked the 5952s and they are VERY matched. Any ideas?
