    Buddy's Building a Guitar...

More cleanup needed, but I'd rather spend time later on touch up work. I quit drinking 14 years ago. About 3 months into my sobriety I decided to lose some weight. I basically didn't eat most of the day and hopped on a stationary bike for 1.5 hours a day. In hindsight this was not the way to...

IME, floetrol is best used with latex paint for your house. You can get the same effect with water since acrylic is water based, but will need to do more coats depending on how diluted it is. And to your point I think it's too late...

I can't really think of any mods other than maybe swapping out pickups down the line. Showing your age now, aren't we? lol. Definitely some good ones on that list.

What is in the signal path?

What you've got is a non-inverting opamp configuration (IC1.1) and an inverting opamp configuration (IC1.2). Google and here will help you with more in depth analyses and specific calculations. The non-inverting opamp is a bit more complicated so I'll give my 2 cents about it here. R3 biases...

Picture's not the greatest in focus, but I'll try to update this later. Yes, those are legos and I'll come back and do touch up paint later. One of the things my wife and I like to do together is play the wide variety of lego video games out there on our old playstation (it's a PS3). These games...

After the primer, I've decided to use acrylic paint for the rest of the project since I'm going to hand paint the rest with the exception of protection/finishing coat and for a few reasons. Acrylic paint is cheap. I can get a small bottle at a walmart or craft supply store for less than $1 a...

There are some cold joints on there. Take the time to reflow your solder and make sure it pretty much sinks in to the hole instead of sitting in a ball on top.

Disarray Distortion - High Gain MIAB

So, I've finally got around to the artwork on this one. I kept the temporary knobs and worked around that. The artwork is my attempt to hand paint something pixelated and it shows. I waited months for the art inspiration as well as nicer weather to rattle can some primer and gloss. This is still...

    The Enchanted Boost bread

Breadboarding isn't hard. You just have to do it and think a bit differently than "solder by number". There's a bit of a puzzle involved. For a simple SHO it won't be difficult. There are tons of pics in the Test Kitchen to go from schematic to breadboard. It's a good skill to learn if you're...

8" vs 4" Speakers for practice amp

An overgeneralization, but the larger the speaker, the more low end and more volume can go through. More speakers do not necessarily mean more volume. In other words, going from a 2x12 to a 4x12 doesn't mean your cab it 4x louder.

The misalignment is on the backside of the guitar and, honestly, it doesn't bother me since I don't notice a difference in the way it plays or string protection.
