    Your current game play-through

I've been playing a lot of Slay the Spire 2 lately, picture related. Anyone else? It's quite hard I think, but as a result it's also enjoyable to learn, but not really a "mindless card game to play when tired", unless you're willing to look up the basics.

    New Pedal Releases

It's definitely not for me either (I think the Chase Bliss pedals are mostly meant for people who play ambient stuff and I don't care about that at all), but that's just useless levels of exaggeration. Yes, it's just an analog voiced digital delay, but similarly a $100 Harley Benton is just as...

    SOLVED Fornicus - bias issue

It does sound like there might have indeed been a short (or cold solder joint?) earlier that got fixed, but the LED thing was covered in the thread I linked earlier I believe. I also had similar results to that thread, where similar (or small difference) between the two LED's forward voltages...

    New Pedal Releases

Finland 2-3 electricity related fatalities per year, 5M pop. So probably not directly related to sockets in bathrooms, since those are fine here (at least 60cm from a bath/shower - I think UK be 300cm from a bath/shower which is why they don't really exist in practice?).

    Tayda UV Printing

I noticed that on their https://www.taydaelectronics.com/pcb-assembly page (which is "Pedal Box Modifications" and not about PCB assembly) there's a mention of engraving. Anyone know how that works and what it costs? Also curious is the mention about alternate printing modes, instead of White...

    New Pedal Releases

I've had them both ways in Finland, inside and outside. Frankly I think inside makes a lot more sense, but outside is great for pranking your significant other.

Squiward transistor hfe? Not important? Just matching the vf of the diodes?

I wonder if that could just be a psychoacoustic thing, an octaver would obviously decrease lower frequencies and increase higher frequencies, which could make it feel like it's quieter and weaker? While a fuzz or distortion would "bring their own low end", but you get more high end too, so it...

    What's your current headache?

My downstairs neighbors stayed up drinking (I assume) until 6AM. I had to wake up at 6:30 anyway, didn't really sleep. Downsides of living in an apartment I guess. On the other hand, I did get two enclosures drilled right when my wife woke up, so that's a plus. Hopefully it disturbed their...

    New Pedal Releases

I thought the reverb was also discontinued, but seems like it was not, it's just always sold out.

    SOLVED Fornicus - bias issue

Study the schematic carefully. The lower part seems to work fine, the issue is with the upper part - the 10uF and 1uF caps do not make any difference if the LED issue prevents any signal from getting through in the first place due to the LEDs. The whole upper part is meant to be the sag...

Post your eBay/Reverb/marketplace/Craigslist finds for others

https://reverb.com/item/86550857-maya-devices-punk-rat-distortion saw this in a JHS video, not sure which thread it fit into best. Obviously it's not very practical for live at least, but I don't think it was meant to be either.

    Unison Double Tracker

The stereo mod is wet/dry. The pedal itself is mono, so you won't get stereo out of it, you would need to build two of them in one enclosure for actual stereo. But since it's a doubler, the wet/dry might still be ok - you do get a wider total image with one side being "doubled" (slight pitch and...

    SOLVED Fornicus - bias issue

I hope someone can clarify things, but according to https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/fornicus-leds.20394/#post-274391 and from what I remember of my own troubleshooting, you want a decent difference in VREF between D1 and D2 - the part I'm not sure about is which way you want it. I think you...

    IC Sockets

Tbh I'm mainly using sockets to help with any troubleshooting issues (including IC's installed the wrong way around). That's pretty much the only reason I even use sockets in the first place - troubleshooting pedals with sockets is so much easier than ones without sockets.

My pedal building is going to go slow. Got myself an injury.

We have a joke in Finland which I thought was just a gross and insulting stereotype. Little did I know!

    IC Sockets

"We mount our IC's sideways to improve the signal/noise ratio and EMF rejection. This allows for more natural, warm, tube-like breakup, improved clarity and enhanced dynamic feel." Easy +$50 to the pricing.

    IC Sockets

I use this https://www.taydaelectronics.com/hardware-tools/hand-tools/u-type-plcc-extraction-tool.html because pulling IC's often does suck. There's also https://www.taydaelectronics.com/plcc-extraction-tool-black-handle.html, not sure if that's better or not. The first one works fine IME, but...

    IC Sockets

I've also always used leaf-type sockets with no issues. You do need to pre-bend the legs beforehand, but it's not too hard.

    Why are people like this?

Was that really the CNC guy? You would think someone like that would have messed up more often so they would know they need to be very careful with the measurements, not just throw shit at AI and hope for the best. Also as a side note, why the hell did I never think of marking the pots like...

Post your eBay/Reverb/marketplace/Craigslist finds for others

Modo Bass, the Hammond and Leslie are good, the others less so. But for that price (plus if you can get Melodyne and/or Twangström as a freebie, whichever you have use for) it's still not bad.
